Agreed you understood the context. People here missed the mark saying the mom is annoying, no romance, blah, blah…this is airing on CCTV. Of course they have to tone down a lot and the actress He Sai Fei is a well known and respected. She is playing a mom from Anhui province speaking a dialect ( NO need to make fun of it).
Hopefully the rating will climb back up

So happy she made that move and am loving her as Mai Cheng Huan. And she portray that role realistically so many people will relate to her having a parent that is constantly controlling
