After watching ep. 17 the puzzle is coming together, there’s a human trafficking ring. In my previous comment, I was guessing Xu Meng’s other pen pal is Su Qing. They could have been trafficked. Both of them are with old men that are abusive. Xu Meng’s so call father basically forced her to become a prostitute to get money and take out high-interest loans. He is probably not her real father. I think Xu Meng could have been smashing the doorway to remove blood stain. His skull fractured and uneven edges.

Hmm The father is most likely dead already. I think Xu Meng was carrying a dead body and his ghostly hands might be made from specimen (her ex bf makes specimen). This explains why he wasn't walking at all. If it was to make a specimen, then dismemberment made sense. Xu Meng’s neighbor mentioned someone came to collected jars and bottles. Reminds me how organs are preserved in jars. 🥴
