This is a funny show, and it is not bad at all, but it is far from what could have been a great show. You did well to drop this if you found the first three episodes boring because the villain's plot armor, repeating and completely avoidable events happening all over again and lack of explanations about the fantasy elements would have made you hate this more by the end. Me, on the other side, I am rewatching knowing what things bothered me originally so I just don't spend energy on them and don't mind them to still enjoy the funny moments, the drama and eventually their romance!

The show is funny, and the romance is good for some reason, but even when I love this show, I have to recognize that the plot got repetitive, the characters were constantly making the worst decision, the story had plot holes with events that made no sense or happened without proper setup and the great mystery was never explained by the end.. I guess those are some of the reasons why...

Yep... And I prefer one where we don't have to wait for 30 episodes to barely see them together for 5 or 6 episodes... "My Fated Boy" seems to be one of the only ones, so who knows... I may rewatch it now and just skip skip through the side characters... (Yes, I am looking at you cousin who breaks the Bro Code...)

The romance is great and continuously growing. The best thing is that thanks to the break, that only take one episode, you get to see the female lead chasing after the male lead. If I have to add something else, I like that feelings take time to develop from the female lead's side, which feels very good vs so many dramas where they just fall in love out of nowhere.

Abyss is in my rewatch list, and might be my next watch after I finish "The Rational Life".

Alchemy of Souls is full of romance, but part 1 is more focused on the male lead journey to discover his power and the survival of the female lead in a body that is not hers. However, part two is darker and cooler when it comes to the plot, but romance is the piece keeping everything together, and if you don't rush the female lead recovering her memory, you actually get to enjoy a much more beautiful romance between the leads.

Nevertheless could be considered toxic, but also healing since they touch topics that other K-Dramas would never dare. It is only 10 episodes, and has no fillers, everything and everyone is relevant.

An additional recommendation with a separation by the end, only to be give with a heartwarming reunion before the end is "Bulgasal"; with this one, more than a K-Drama, you will be watching a whole TV series with focus on fantasy, mystery and romane.

From this list:

- "Abyss", is a show with a million plot holes, but the story is still fun and romance is heartwarming from earlier episodes. There is a separation by the end, but only takes a short time, and the reunion by the end is very nice.

- "Alchemy Of Souls", has things that I hate, but even more things that I loved. This is a fantasy based story that has at least two guys somewhat flirting with the female lead, but the male lead always ends up on top, and the fantasy and action elements are very cool. The season 1 has a sad ending, but the show has a second season where they get their happy ending. About season 2, some people complain because the female lead actress is different, but I personally love the switch, and others hate the amnesia trope, but while I agree it took longer that what it should, they make it all worth it, and you feel it less if you focus on the plot, action and fantasy and character development. Besides, the male lead is badass in the second season.

- "Because of Meeting You" became one of my favorite family drama, since the main leads always remain around each other from the moment they start interacting as adults. The villains get their way almost to the end of the show, but Karma in this show is real! If you have the patience, you will be rewarded, and reveal of the truth brought tears to my eyes.

- "Boss and Me" is low quality in my opinion, and the misunderstanding they have plus their further break up is writer's nonsense, but the character development that the female lead shows in the last episodes is one of the best I've seen in Dramaland.

- In "Nevertheless" I don't feel like they are really together until the end, but their chemistry and character development is amazing! Plus, it is a very very hot relationship.

I have watched more shows from the list, but the ones I mentioned above are the ones that stand out more for me. I have also watched other shows with break ups that are not in this list yet, so please let me know if you need more recommendations, or if you have any recommendations for me as well.

There is most definitely a Bro Code even when "all" is fair in love and war, since everything has an exception, and the Bro Code is one. Otherwise, it shouldn't carry a negative stigma to date the ex of your boyfriend or your girlfriend, or would you do that?

I agree. Character development is good, since some characters go from the worst to good people, but the healing part would have been all this, but in the past and things getting a solution and getting healthier from earlier episodes.

Just finished episode 14 and knowing how in a good show scenes have meaning behind them, the possibilities of long distance relationship and/or a time skip are knocking at the door with Yong Pil, since the writers are hinting that he may go to New Zealand (or wherever the place they mentioned was), and we know that Sam Dal would never be against that because he stayed to take care of his mother, so she would like him to finally achieve his dreams. If this happens, I hope for Sam Dal to go with him or for the time skip to take only one scene or two... fingers crossed.

We do not deserve another break up or a long distance relationship... I don't know if it will happen, but I hope that these awful writers can at least land that one...

I strongly believe that you never break the Bro Code, you never cross that line, but only the writers are to blame in this show. I am half way across episode 14 and I cannot believe the conversation between Sang Do and the other guy from their group, I cannot believe this guy is literally telling Sang Do that Sam Dal and Yong Pil are trying to get back together, so he should confess "before it is too late"... These guys are not friends with Yong Pil and have never been! The security guard friend was upset in the previous episode because "if they broke up again, he would affected by it", and now this guy is encouraging delusion and backstabbing... I apologize to Sang Do because while he is still wrong, he is surrounded by what seems to be supportive best friends, but only that they are not YP friends... writing this I just realized that they we were only friends with YP because he came in the same package with SD ...

I have to apologize to Sang Do and to everyone that does. it believe or support the Bro Code ...

That's a strong remark, I think I agree with you, but can you tell me why?

I agree that his dad is uncomfortable to watch, but I feel like him finally moving on from his grieving will bring an extremely satisfying character development for us to enjoy. Sang Do's character, is a character that I understand what they were trying to accomplish but they failed miserably and you can see that clearly when we were supposed to feel sad for him in this episode, but we couldn't care less at this point. The single fact of him liking his supposed best friend girl is bad enough, but him being delusional and not moving on earlier to at least show some character development on his side makes it that he has been adding nothing for episodes by now and we are just done with him. Yong Pil loving her all this time adds true love to this romance and there is nothing wrong with this. Last, but not least, even if Sam Dal actually moved on and fell in love and dated other guys has nothing wrong, but this episode made it extremely clear that has only loved Yong Pil, and her dating a few times was not only superficial, short lived and unsuccessful because it was only a failed attempt to move on which she thought was the best choice by the time. Overall, the father will come around soon, Sang Do seems to be finally moving on soon, Yong Pil long wait seems to be coming to an end, and now we know that Sam Dal also love and has always loved Yong Pil with all her heart and mind.
