I'm on episode 22 and we'll impressed with DY character growth from this humble and cheeky daredevil salt trader to the masterful and scheming official he now has become. Great performance!
If I could chose I rather have ZL back in the character when it all started. I miss his carefree and adventurous, mischievous spirit!
Are you talking about Tingyun? Why resent her? Is Zhao Ling not a grown man capable of making his own decisions?
Aye, he made this choice and other choices, and it was circumstance and people around him that led him down the path. It's not easy to protect the people he cares about. I get it, he had his inner struggles and I totally get it why he did what he did. They paid dearly too 😢
in the future eps it doesn't even look like she herself likes their own current circumstances lol. their end game…
Maybe the whole story tells us that choices you make can backfire but also change you (good or bad). The higher you climb the more ruthless one gets. Life is not so simple anymore
I'm on episode 17 and somehow I'm starting to resent her and the circumstances surrounding him making these choices 😭 He was meant to be righteous, but turns out he might be not so upright anymore. Circumstances change people. So sad.
Now I know why CZY rejected to play in this 11 times... This was most exaggerated feminism that I ever saw in…
I must admit that on occasion I thought the same. How did she get away with her actions in certain occasions? There were parts that felt so unreal. I wished the would have made the ML a bit stronger and more prominent. I'm getting a bit tired of these female eccentric and focused dramas. Key to the phoenix heart and pursuit of jade felt more male focused or at least balanced.
Finished it and liked it. 8/10. The drama makes sense from beginning to the end. Everyone they die deserves it,…
I'm with you on that one. The leads didn't have much chemistry, but still watchable. I cried in the end , for both of them, thou. I felt the ending was good despite tragic on occasion
This show was a roller coaster. No doubts. Tragedy and Love all over it. Ok, the leads casting didn't quite do it for me as I didn't get the chemistry from them, but both are good actors and I watched the show to the end. The side 'love' stories were good too. No doubt I cried about some of the human sacrifices and loses in the drama. Make up had it's flaws, but the costumes, cinematography, landscapes, directing were excellent. Shame the ending felt a bit rushed. I hear different opinions about the ending, but for me, it was satisfying nevertheless, despite being tragic. Who knew I would shed tears. I try not to lol. Anyways, definitely worth a watch of you like female centric story lines!
As far as I remember, it was her who put him on this path and he chose to do so.
One climbs high but can also fall.
Well I hope the ending is a good one. I'm already getting anxious. Lol
