KHJ is an excellent actress, that said I dont think she's ever taken on an action role and for me it shows. When she plays mama and wife she's amazing but as the cold blooded killer...nah not working for me. Plot is good though so watching to the finale.
Another thing I personally aint a fan of is the 2nd leads story, the girl is just too childish I cannot bear to watch her baby like expressions and acting. It was a cute surprise when we found out she's this amazing fighter and I wish she'd stuck to that persona.
Now for the finale, am 100% sure she ain't dying and it will be a happy ending and reunion with her family (btw funny how she died in her last drama with LMH, not happening 2 consecutive times surely!). As for who eventually learns of her real identity I have a feeling very few people will but her inlaws will not be on that list.

Just reading comments and realizing I ain't spoiling anything cuz everyone's almost finishing the drama and am only on ep 2 😅
Anyways the comments ain't giving me much hope and this is a story I don't wanna experience twice so dropped unfortunately. As usual can't watch and read the same story, it's tiring. It's either one or the other. (Blossom through the cloud is the exception so far, maybe because the story isn't as heavy and emotional...and of course Miles ge ge 🙈😅!)

I read the synopsis and was like not my style.
Then I saw everyone going crazy about it online and I thought mmhh maybe there's something there.
And so I started watching. By episode 2 some bits felt very familiar and I wondered if I had read the novel it was based on. Of course turns out I did, this year actually. Went back to check what it was about and reading my own comment on novelupdates I remembered just how I thoroughly enjoyed it but man oh man did I cry my eyeballs out 😭

2 places in particular made me bawl,
1) when they broke up for real (cuz the breaking up and making up was becoming too much to be honest 😅)
2) can't talk about it without spoiling but let's just say when there was a loss of life. (actually am hopeful that won't be incorporated here cuz it isn't in the tags!)

Anyhoo great story and as much as I'd love them to bring it to life I wish they'd tone down on the tearjerking elements...I've cried once already have mercy😭

I knew it the moment I read the synopsis that I'd read the novel and as per my Novelupdates reading list I read it 2 years ago. Well that's long enough for me to not remember much of the story cuz otherwise I cannot watch what I've already read and vice versa! Loving this so far, can never get tired of Miles on my screen 😍

I for one ain't complaining 😅

Read the novel after 6 episodes and didn't come back to continue the drama...as I knew I would, that's my problem you see ha ha! Anyhoo for me, the extras were the best part of the story. The main was ok but the extras were just amazing. Hopefully they are included in a big way otherwise I feel drama watchers will be missing out on a lot of good stuff. That's all I dropped by to say...

About to start on the novel and my issue is if i either read the story or watch the drama first then i can't do the other. I did it last time with a drama mid air and didn't finish it cuz i knew the story already!
But but i so love SWL didi and don't wanna miss out on his chiseled face what to do?! 😩😅

I only watched up to the penultimate episode and dropped it, couldn't stomach the finale thanks to ONE character! I mean I enjoyed all those episodes mainly because of him and then to have the rug pulled out from under your feet like that ugh! What a sleazy, weird bag slinging, excuse of a man arrgghhhh am getting worked up all over again just thinking of what he did to our amazing classy gorgeous unnie!

Already rated a 10! Thats how sure I am that it's gonna be a fantastic 12 ep ride- a hit!

She makes me feel embarassed about the times i used to give my ex the silent treatment...childish!! 🙈 Just let the poor guy go, what's this about keeping him just so he doesn't have his way 🤬

Red herring i think, otherwise it's too much like the best friend character in 'the fugitive!'

Kudos to SK for churning out dramas around these themes, yes the execution may seem like fantasy (not to me of course, it's right up my alley!) but am always thinking if even just one person was reformed thanks to seeing such programs and realizing the error of their ways then we can't ask for more really.

Now closer to home, am watching this as someone who studied in Kenya and is actually half Kenyan and recently the news have all been about the students who set a dorm building on fire, killing a good number of fellow students. The big debate is whether they should be tried as children or adults, keeping in mind the gravity of the crime they have committed. Personally, I got my answer as early as ep 1 if am not mistaken, it was a sentence along the lines of thugs will be tried as adults because, well, they are committing adult like crimes!

Even closer to home, I was in boarding school and I remember one year for about two terms (read semesters), I was bullied by most if not all the girls in my class, wasn't so much physical but man it was brutal and I still get triggered when I watch such stuff. Of course we ended up being on good terms again and now I can't even remember what really started it all, I think it was just stupid immature stuff but whenever I remember that particular period of my life it still hurts. Then some idiot had the audacity to comment when I opened up to them about it much much later in my adulthood, "I don't understand people who keep quiet when they are bullied". Insensitive idiot! (My ex btw who went to the same school as me ha ha!)
Anyways am glad i could say that out loud, kinda therapeutic to be honest. Thanks to whoever reads and empathises

It's funny the first few episodes i couldnt wait to watch WY and GR dates cuz it was just so heart fluttering! But now i literally just skip all his dates! Am sorry WY I am just not that into you anymore 🤣😅😂 (I sincerely hope GR falls in love with SW enough to one day say these words!)
All dates were cute in my opinion, i mean all 3 dates that i watched cuz i have no clue what happened with loverboy this episode🤷‍♀️🙈😅

I believe my wording was she rejected him cuz if she hadn't I don't think he would have fallen for yang jie. So the fact that the girl made it clear in all but direct words that she was interested in someone else then add to that yang jie firmly choosing him of course he'd be swayed and end up falling for her. I know she couldn't control her feelings and liked the other guy but I was secretly happy they didn't even last! Hou ge was a real one, she missed out silly girl 🙈

I mix the names of the shows cuz ive watched so many chinese dating shows but there's some that stand out (long post alert cuz i've really been wanting to discuss this with somebody, anybody 😆)
1) the uni footballer (someone ge) and the girl (yang jie i think) their story was just awws! He got rejected by the girl he was really chasing, this jie chose him, firmly chose him might i add, and it was smooth sailing from there.
2) William and his 3 friends (what program was that?!) They all got the girl but William was such a disappointment all that intensity then they break up soon after ugh! But the process was cute cute cute and made it such a nice watch. (Actually was this same program as 1)? I think so!)
3) aah my utmost favorite! That program about participants over 30 whereby every season there's people with kids some divorced just real people one can identify with, plus they dont focus so much on looks.
S1 was the bestest! The guy who had zero interest in the girl she even came to ask him on a date since nobody asked her, he of course refused her but man oh man next date when they got paired up and she showed up all dolled up the guy just fell head over heels! She even had one more guy chasing her! From no love interest to 2 love interests! Love love love their story. Both had kids and were divorced. Still together i believe/hope!
I forget others but bonus one which isnt chinese but korean it's that exchange one where the girl was so hung up on her ex but he wasn't having none of it then swoosh the new guy comes what a couple of days before the finale and aggresively pursues her and teaches her to love and be loved all over again! He's a dongsaeng but a fierce go getter dongsaeng who picked her the moment he arrived and stuck with his choice. I love their love, wonder if they are still together?!
Anyhoo i doubt abybody can pinpoint who or what show am referring to but yeah just wanted to share mostly chinese shows romances that really just made me go awwsss! And to conclude, yes chinese shows are much better for me...bad subs and all i just put 2+2 and figure out what's going on for myself 😆
