One of the delights of this series is how they cut away to things like this and the friends witnessing the takedown of Sad Sack SML.

I don't know if that's something many girls in China would do, but it is something American girls would definitely do for a crush. I started running at a certain tiny park at 6 am many moons ago because a crush ran there in the mornings. I think that's why I feel in my heart she wasn't in love, just kind of proactive, lol.

I melted when he said they could not have a long-distance relationship because he needs to see her every day. I think the cousin is going to be a great boyfriend/husband when he grows up because he has the most excellent tutors--his father and cousin-in-law.

I totally agree that they were not meant to be. He would have forced her to give up a job he loves while LYS did everything possible to ensure she thrived. SML would have expected her to be a corporate wife rather than a corporate leader. Can't see him doing childcare while she's on a business trip. He also was so, so, so self-centered and self-pitying, whereas our darling put his love for XG above everything else, including the accident that so drastically changed his life.

I cannot remember the wording, but I think she was saying that XG wouldn't mind it if he reached out and apologized for past behavior because she's so happy and successful now. And he's saying she's not the kind of person that needs that. I need to watch again.

They weren't true. He was a very hard and successful worker, but he got a strong dose of what XG experienced with their college so-called friends. ZX, Chris, and Kevin eventually started their own firm.

I will absolutely do a binge. Need to wait until just before the final episode airs on Netflix or IQIYI so I can watch the express batch we got today on my television. I'd been watching on IQIYI up to 31 and there was nothing today. Thankfully I could turn to Tencent on my laptop for the last 5 episodes.

OMG. When he said his commute was nothing because he NEEDS to see XG every day, I died. Our young cousin loved that, too, and cracked me up. He's like, let me write this line down so I can use it one day.

Green Tea Slattern and her stupid spawn got what they deserved. That daughter killed me talking about how she could have had a stable job if her mother hadn't brought her to mooch off Mr. Nie. Being a productive human being seems to be the one part of XG's life that she didn't try to replicate, silly cow!!!

The solar garden turned out beautifully!!! And I like how XG's friends rose up the corporate ladder, too, especially Yin Jie, while the uni friends were drifting apart.

And yes, it was wonderful to witness their lives post-marriage. So often these series end with the wedding or two minutes of post-wedding life.

I am missing this series already.

That whole episode made me feel a bit weepy. Except, of course, when the Lin family was leaving the airport and it cut to SML and company. Love that he got to see what happy looks like. And thank goodness Chris did not attach herself to that man. But she sure did make a lot of assumptions about XG just from seeing her during that ski trip. She at least was woman enough to give her credit for all of her successes.

I love that series so much and have watched it many times. Sometimes I've had to ff'd through the food scenes because they make me so hungry. I am desperately seeking Dr. Mo's pig trotter stew recipe!
