Yep, the poison trope was a downer. They actually tied it into the story really well. It was an intelligent usage of the trope that just wasn't appreciated, sadly. We've seen it so many times, the damage done by the overuse and poor execution in other dramas.

He can't always be in a masterpiece or hit show. But, as long as his performance is good, hopefully, the industry and general public will take notice. ZJM's and ZLH's OG didn't land so well either.

As for the CP, it was obvious early that it was never going to get off the ground. The honest truth is that Julia has severe limitations in her emoting ability. In an earlier discussion here on the WXY page, we were talking about Zhao Qing's limitations, but with ZQ, her limitations bring mixed results. She's good at expressing some things and not so good at others when it comes to emoting. Julia's expression, by contrast, barely changes. 

It's not all bad. Julia is young, the same age as Xingyue and Jinmai, but she needs to work hard to develop. Her look is good, she can cry, and deliver lines. She simply lacks expressiveness with her eyes. She doesn't necessarily need formal training. Look at people like Xiao Zhan, Lusi, and Yuning. She just needs time and hard work. I'm concerned that those pushing hard for her in lead roles before she has learned these skills are doing her more harm than good. She'd be better served landing some large support roles and developing these abilities without the pressure of carrying the drama. It's funny because I'm following Ai Mi's first lead role in a costume drama, and there were people that wanted Julia for that role. Ai Mi's greatest strength at only seventeen is the ability to act with her eyes and deliver little micro-expressions that represent involuntary and natural reactions.

That drama I dropped broke the heat index, too. I'll have to go back and watch it at another date. That's how good this bts has been 💕.

True. But, he was brilliant in his role. FL is still one of the funniest dramas I've seen to date. I'll admit the bts of LIRD fooled me. It didn't even remotely look comedic. Only the natural humour between co-stars could be seen. Sneaky, they hid all their comedic interactions well. Really looking forward to this one.

They've been such a wonderful pair. If every set was this energetic and fun, I'd watch a lot more of them 🤣. But, because they are not, that's what made this one so special. Looking forward to the first trailers / teasers. Then, seeing the final product on-screen 🔥.
