This is a very skip-freindly drama, as long as you fast-forward through ML flashback parts and the game/competition parts and just focus on the Rom/Com part, its a 10/10
this started out great, but I just can't take it anymore, none of the side characters are believable or well-written, FL is so wishy-washy, her entire life was getting destroyed by the writer that accused her of plagorism, and when she finally had the upper hand, she chose to forgive and forget, like WTH even is that? doing this not only damaged her character in my mind but it also allows for such a thing to happen easily to others in the future too, she could have set a precedent to protect original works like her novel better.
Yes, many viewers had the same expectation and the synopsis on many platforms doesn't help with that impression.…
there's nothing wrong with trying to teach a lesson, but if you want to abandon your fantasy plot(ghosts), then you need to have superb writing to keep the audience fom getting bored, you can't just have mediocare writing for your ghost plot and then abandon even that and do a generic chaebol plot.
look at Lovely Runner or Twinkling Watermelon, the charactetrs arent time-traveling( fanasy plot)every second of every episode, for the most part they're a simple rom-com, yet the writing elevates them,Spooky in love needed that kind of writing.
I don't know about that! Is it harsh to expect the drama to stick to the premise it promised? this could have been one of the greats, instead all it was tuned out to be yet another generic chaebol drama, and not a good one at that.
this was a very draggy drama, had to drop it at episode 4, it was just so boring, the gangster plot wasn't compelling at all, ML as a ganster had zero aura, then there is his poker-face or just plain non-verbal bevior, FL was carrying him hard, there is also too much sadness in it for a supposed romantic comedy, in these 4 episodes I haven't laughed or smiled once, if they wanted to smother us with angst or sadness they should have at least stablished some funny moments.
does it really matter if this is bl or not???? a good story is a good story, and so far the first two eps are…
it matters, proper BL has a proper pay-off that a pretend BL deesn't have, it's just endless teasing and then you get an unstasisfying: "they were only friends" in the end.
this is predatory behavior by the writer and director, they want to have both groups of the audience, so they lie and tease and leave both groups unsatisfied, in the end the only winners would be their bank accounts.
Se-gye has an annoying character... He just yells at Seo-ri all the time...
yep! every issue and problem that Seo-Ri faced was beacuase of his inability to control his own family problems, and then he had the nerve to blame Seo-Ri, it really pissed me off, I kept yelling at my TV: "go and deal with your annoying cousin and granpa instead of just posing and thinking you're superior than all of them "
I've seen it so may times in western and eastern dramas that I feel like I've developed a bias, everytime I hear anyone thinking about adpting or has adopted my mid immediately goes: "Damn, they better be careful of it's gonna trun against the parents or the bio kids at some point"
obviously I don't say it out loud, but I always think it.
I really wanted to like it but it's way too nonsensical, the King goes through all this trouble to find someone that can fix hist ghost problems, but wait! his daughter that he has hidden pretty close by has abilities too and can basically do what ML can, by epsiode 3 she can even enter demon world and has to save ML, why did the king even bring him here?
besides that there is the issue of why ML and FL even bothered to save the Queen dowager?? that made no sense to me🤷♂️
then there is the fact that the story is unfinished and there is noway in hell they're getting a Season2, so this will forever remain an unfinished drama, with a confsuing plot.
if we were in his shoes we might not be any different
speak for yourself, I wouldn't have cared as much cuz my conscience would be clear, I did everything I could, Jason made his own decisions, he was too weak
this started out great but it's getting too angsty, I'm on episode 17 and don't have the motivation to continue, another issue I have is the coach blaming himself for Jason's death, while I'm of the opinion that he didn't do anything wrong🤷♂️
yep! super boring, dropped it too. maybe there was smething else going on behind the scenes that we don't know…
but that's the thing, if she hadn't left they probably would have added some rom-com elements to Flex x Cop, it would have been small and it mostly would ahve remained a cop show, but there would ahve beem some, and that "some" would have infinitely been better than whatever mess this drama was, cuz I feel SYAWT did more damage to her career.
it was all good when it was just rom-com focused drama. but it lost it's spark after it got more into suspense,…
that's what happens to most rom-coms, the material they have isn't enough for a 12 or 16 episode drama so they have to stretch it with stupid plots that change the foundation of the dramas genre.
it's not just an issue of conflict. I think there is something wrong with the direction and pacing too, like it…
oh yeah, it definately was too bland, the color plate was all wrong too, there was no difference in a scene that was suppposed to be funny in comprison to a sad or romantic one.
then there is relatebility of the characters, FL was ghosted for 8 months and was still crying over her Ex, I could never relate to that, then there is that fact that she obviously isn't over the dude and you want me to believe that she's gonna jump into a super serious relationship with her boss that soon?😑

I desperately hope we get a drama that just tries to be a fantasy rom-com without the need for moronic tropes or regular mundane issues.
