Oooh THAT one! That was really cool, yes. And you're right, there are so many car scenes 😂 It's like an important part of the drama. Like the one where Pei Su has an accident, LWZ accompanies him to the hospital but then keeps on laughing at him? I absolutely adored this part.

Which one? There are a few car scenes that I really liked, I don't really remember the episode. There was the one where Tao Ze gives Pei Su candy and he just sits in the car afterwards, looking really sad and tired. I really liked that one. And then there was this scene where Luo Wei Zhao gives Pei Su a birthday cake and he startles as if he dropped some monster in his lap. That one was too cute. And then there are the car scenes where Pei Su is just being Pei Su, sitting in his car and sipping coffee. 😂
Season 2 does something weird to my brain. My friend: I'm hungry. My brain: Why did she say that, she must be secretly backstabbing me, is this some sort of insult?
Well, they must have noticed just how much ON FIRE the male leads are. 😁😁
As far as I know, the translations have been taken down because the novel was licensed by Seven Seas, so we'll get an official translation at some point of time. Unfortunately, they are really slow.
Is it just me or do they speak very quickly in this show? I find I have to pause and rewind a lot to pay attention…
I think they just speak more casually than in many other dramas, making it more natural in fact? I struggle with it too, but then again I always struggle listening to normal Chinese people speaking with one another, especially compared to the clear and slow pronunciation in dramas. 😂
The post production work is over and they even got the airing license. Only if the damn tencent didn't plan to…
I know they used to say it might be bad for the actors if the shows get released abroad. But on the other hand, The Spirealm got released and Xia Zhiguang is doing fine as far as I can see, popping up in more dramas. I also didn't hear anything negative after the release of Blue Canvas of Youthful Days, even though that one is far spicier than Justice in the Dark will ever be. Then again, these things are highly unpredictable. I think it's obvious that no one wants to see another incident like that with Zhang Zhe Han. Let's wait and pray. 😅
Some time ago, I saw a fan video with Luo Yun Xi where he talks about Immortality in a roundabout way, adding "those who know know" and the fans just started screaming like mad. So at least he likes to play with such allusions, it seems. 😂
Wait o.o Youku also took it - episode 9 coming in 54 days ? In April 3, but in japan it's said it's already out…
But is there any source confirming this? On their website, nothing has changed, it's still eight episodes like before, nothing hinting at the release of more episodes. I didn't see a press statement either? I have the feeling it's just MDL? Maybe someone wanted to add a timer for WOWOW and now it looks as though it'll air on Youku again?

Thanks for your reply. So in fact, there is a realistic chance that Immortality might also be sold to a foreign TV broadcaster. After what they did with The Spirealm and Justice in the Dark, we might get to see more shelved dramas released in this way ... We should all support Justice in the Dark now, it has to be lucrative for the producers, otherwise others won't sell their dramas.

Thanks for your reply. ❤️ Do we have any official or semi-official statement concerning post-production? Like, what's our source for this? I really hope it's true.
Okay, so there's something that I've been wondering for quite some time. You see, eight episodes of Justice in the Dark were aired, then the show got cancelled and now Japan bought the drama. So far, so good. I expected something like this to happen sooner or later, because airing some of the episodes means that the drama is finished, just waiting on the shelf to be released eventually. But what do we know about the state of production of Immortality? Like, did they even finish post-production? The few snippets that we got to see were raw BTS scenes, so I always asked myself how far they really got with this. How do we know that there is now a finished version of Immortality waiting to be bought and released some day? How do we know it's not just some mess that was abandoned halfway? 😓
So many people are happy this series is coming but my question is is this bl or bromance like spirealm and untamed
I used to think these are bromance until I read a very smart comment by one of our fellow MDLers. In the Chinese context, it's better to call this type of drama (censored) BL because the main characters are quite obviously in love, they just won't get physical on screen. In a bromance, guys just get along really well with one another, so your fantasy might fly certain places, but they are not actually in love. So for example, Mysterious Lotus Casebook is full of bromance. The relationship between Xiao Se and Wu Xin in The Blood of Youth and that of Zhao Yuan Zhou and Zhuo Yi Chen in Fangs of Fortune give bromance vibes, but they are not in love, so it's not a BL. On the other hand, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji love each other; it would be ridiculous to call their relationship a bromance just because they don't kiss on screen. This difference is very important, I think. While I do enjoy a good bromance, Chinese censored BLs are just on a whole different level and even though the leads never kiss, you are fully aware of their feelings.

Have fun watching Spirealm! I really liked the setting. The different levels are really exciting.
