Plus he could have been scheming, cunning but not evil, ML would readily accept to support him because he is the legitimate heir, but not after everything he did. He would have taken the country to ruins. He is truly irredeemable.

Prince Changxin, Sui brother's father, is related to the royal family that is the Qi s. He was a cousin of the previous emperor if I remember correctly, but a far relationship. Prince Changxin has always vying for more power and hence against the royal regime.
