He was not normal then. But 15 minutes later he came back to his sense, like it was like a split personality, he stopped the killing of her guards, freed FL, apologized everything! The drama gets dark in some parts, but everything was handled well in the novel! The dude Bai something, he is like a spy for ML. He later likes FL but FL rejected him, its not that serious, its funny, he is a good person! Empress will be defeated by 18-19 as per emojis, but Prince Duan will be till the end! He is the main villain, will be defeated for sure!

His personality being like that has a reason! Its not very white or black. But if you are just concerned about the ending! Don't worry be it the fictional world or the real world, the couple will get a happy ending, and it will be completely legal and age appropriate! (again this is what the novel follows, if the drama changes few things later, it might be different, though till now it doesn't seem the case)
