The director's cut was definitely worth it (I had watched the original series before). I appreciate stories that show the complexity of adult life and the evolution of love/relationships over time. Life is rarely simple. We all have our struggles on how we perceive ourselves and how others perceive us in society. How do you navigate family, love, work in this strange world full of social norms that are constantly lashing at us from all sides? How do you be true to yourself in this crazy world? Is it possible to be and to still be happy?

I just can't understand why Jae Won puts up with their toxic shit.

IKR... Seto's acting was meh to me in Senpai, Danjite Koidewa. Naito Shuichiro was the only reason I finished that series and actually liked it ok. Seto has improved a LOT since then!

This was so much fun and adorable. I literally laughed out loud so many times. Just couldn't stop grinning like a mad fool!

To be fair, most hetero kiss scenes in a a lot of Korean dramas are just as lame. I think we get spoiled when we get a good kiss scene of any kind ;D

Nirvana in Fire, like Untamed, is one of only a hand full of long Chinese dramas that are so good that you NEED to rewatch them over and over. Something about them feeds your soul. I keep trying to pin point what it is exactly that makes the difference.... Maybe it helps to have big themes of what is good and what is evil? Redemption arcs and/or justice/karma is a real thing? The idea that people who cause injustice will get what they dish back with hefty interest back onto themselves? It fits our desire for equality and justice in an unequal and unjust reality? We love stories of characters who despite all the negative thrown at them, surmount the odds.... and/or they deep down stay true to themselves despite adversity. Idk.....

Drove me crazy because you KNEW he was gonna die off that cliff, but you didn't know WHY or WHEN. :P But it kept me going......

Question: Do I need to watch the prequel BEFORE watching this one? The plot in the first doesn't interest me as much as the 2nd, so wonder if it was necessary?

Just finished ep 3 so far. And this series is so much like watching a live action manga; I love the vibe.

40 eps?!?!? With only Romance as a tag?!?!?!? I could see 40 eps if the story was about something else with romance being secondary..... but....wha-?? ....really?!?! Imma gonna need some of you brave souls to finish this and give feedback before I dare try :D
