I'm on the opposite side hence enjoying this drama immensely. I can't staaaand a one big case drama. With that type of drama I often start of interested and somewhere down the lane, I get bored and eventually drop it. So this case by case style is definitely my jam as new cases keeps me interested and guessing from a new fresh perspective. Reason why I'm obsessed with all CSIs. However I also completely understand where you're coming from.

All depends on what genre and style you like. If you're one who likes short cases related to the palace, corrupt high officials, and the misfortune of women with an overarching final big case and a dash of romance, then this is for you. If you expect a one big case investigation throughout with some romance, this may not be for you. And if you're one who watches a drama because your fav. actors are in it then focus on the story...well in that case, its fifty fifty. And if you are one who wants a story with cases getting solved in 1/2 eps. then this is not for you. Hope that helps. As for the pace...it's very subjective so I can't answer that, unfortunately.

This drama is my Super Bowl...hehe Three crying points 1) when Grandpa pleaded for his grandson to be pardoned...I like cried. Ofc they are forgiven cause those monsters got it coming. 2) when the old man died, like my heart dropped. Old man fought the battle and I was grasping the end of my sit. Old man, you're my hero. RIP 3) Pei yi pleading for HJ to remember something. Gosh I felt for her...her desperation, hurt was so raw that 😢. Those people who said Bai Lu can't act, well you have not watched recent eps. Another thing I love about this drama is the main case is not interfering with the other short cases happening and that I appericiate. Gotta give XHJ's papa some brownie points for giving up getting in the way of these two. Let's fate take it's cause...shall we.

Well, really for her to still keep that position of favoured consort (whatever that means) with this sleazy Emperor, says a lot about her. Either, she is the one stiring the pot or her coochy is made of honey 🤷♀️
WXY's face and charisma needs to be studied. Like in these dramas, I completely forget his age. It's when I see his real life interview etc, that's when it dawns on me that he is just a baby. This boy has a very bright future ahead of him.
First 2026 period drama I actually like....Bravo Unveil Jadewind. See I'm not hard to please. It's like palace intrigues done right. Really, I feel for that lady who got taken in the name of favour 🤮 favour my a**. So he just sleeps with her once maybe twice and he already loses interest...so why oh why did you take someone's child who was minding her own business playing her instrument. That moment when she challenged him, is what tickled him...but sir, a woman is also human not something to scratch your itch...tsk tsk If that lady went on to fall in love and get pregnant by someone else, well, she is forgiven . Again, with an Emperor like this, nowonder those so-called officials grew wings and became animals. I mean they got it from their Emperor after all. I absolutely 😂😂 that locked room aphrodisiac moment. It was soo funny. Gosh the way I'm enjoying this drama, I feel like I'm gonna be disappointed somewhere...hope not.

But really, I was really mourning the lives of the 7 angels 😇 😢 😭 😔 I cannot even begin to imagine how they decided to make that decision. Their hearts might have been broken beyond repair. It's like they were staring into abyss. Those beasts had it easy, I wish Hell upon them all and may their souls never rest. As to the 7 angel maids, 😇 You did well, Now you can rest and sleep well. Now I'm crying again...dammit
Ep.25. Another case I feel absolutely nothing about. Yeah, I'm done with cases, I will just ff to the leads and Peilin that's all. I feel like this drama is wasted potential (my opinion). It's like some ingredients were there and some missing and they decided to cook anyway.
