Yes I’ll have to agree with you on that even tho I’m a huge huge fan of this drama. I think the editing there was so weird it appeared almost amateurish. I’m actually ok with introducing the time lapse at that point but the execution felt a little too raw and disjointed. It literally made me sit upright and go “Wud? Wud’s going on here?” …..which shouldn’t be the case in terms of audience reaction. I’m a pretty seasoned drama watcher and have seen many sudden time-jump scenes but none achieved that reaction.

But don’t let that spoil yr viewing pleasure…just know that everything gets explained eventually…. this drama leaves no stones unturned……(except one between tuli n cenyu….)

Hahahaha any excuse to fit in kissing scenes this drama….lol…. Like that heated exchange between MJ & CY where they were arguing about her job being too dangerous and why he’s still stuck in the rut refusing to get out and out of the blue MJ says “Do you dare to kiss me now?” I was like “Wudd?! hahahaha” this girl can’t hold it in anymore.

I don’t get why SWL is so broody with ZJM. I can tell he seems to like her and is unhappy she can’t remember him…..But I don’t get why he likes her…..she’s very plain looking and got mildly bulging eyes…🫢 some of the girls around her look prettier. And ZJM’s taste in guys….. she can get awestruck with the 2nd ML who is quite meh looking….and yet has no reaction to SWL hahaha.

Did anyone here watch Shine on Me? How does it compare with Love for You? I notice it is rated higher than LFY. I’m thinking of moving on from here to that…..

Nice spots! I wondered about some of the points you’ve listed but I kinda explained them away to myself like this….

1) He became a loner coz of his dad and lack of a mum so naturally he was unhappy about 2 strangers taking up half of his home &bedroom. And I think he was also trying to be loyal to his mum to shun his dad’s new woman.

2) She was nice to him when he was at his lowest point. She found out about his sad dark shameful (to him) secret and not only did she not look down on him as a result, she swore to keep it a secret and gave him food and comfort when he most needed it. Previously he was always mean to her partly to put up a tough guy front to protect himself. But now, she knows everything so there’s no need to hide his vulnerability and weakness. Only then can trust be built.

3) & 4) They’ve grown up and were now at that odd teenager’s age. Together with being the opposite sex and having the weirdest family dynamics…everything must have been awkward between the 2. Even real siblings go through that phase let alone the strange quasi-family structure where the parents are not married to each other and constantly on the verge of breaking up. And CY was kicked out of the house the whole time so I guess they didn’t spend alot of time together during those years. But you can still see they care about each other - he went to save her on the boat, she skipped class to rescue him out of the house for the police entrance test, staying by his side when his dad passed, etc.

5) I think in a moment of frustration and anger CY kicked her out of his life and home. It was understandable because her mum really screwed him up and foiled his plans to buy the pool place and left him in debt. CY also wasn’t very sure if MJ was an accomplice to her mums deed becoz they hadn’t been close all those years. It was only when he found out that she had rushed to his rescue when his dad incarcerated him that he felt guilty about abandoning her (a girl who’s only 15 or 16 then) all on her own. Thats when he started to stalk her to see if she’s doing ok, had enough food, clothes, etc.

6) I think she ought to feel wronged by CY coz everything was her mum’s doing and yet CY let it out on her. And he really left her to her own devices for quite a long period of time without any contact. She’s still just a kid with no one around and kicked out of the house. She suffered a lot on her own. So, he was pretty mean to her in that sense. Plus MJ has a lot of pride and is stubborn. I think CY totally deserved the treatment from her.

Yeah. MJ’s got lots of integrity in that respect. She can’t even lead non-CY suitors on (has to reject them outright) let alone touchy-touchy with them….whatever that means 🤪🤣

@swagata Wow, I’m genuinely impressed! 👏🏻 You might just be the first person here who truly appreciates and understands the whole audit shenanigans and the tangled web of vice trade, corruption, and dirty business this drama lays out. Everyone else here are either bored, annoyed and/or confused by it.

Well, in a way….CY is a de facto police undercover! I find him quite a sensible, steady and cautious fella actually. It is MJ who’s a bit of a loose canon with no limits! Good thing CY was watching her back all the time.
