I started watching this expecting it to be deep and moving and beautiful based on the comments and reviews, but I think - just like Korean society in general - it is lacking in real depth. Dropped.
You're the most weird one in this comment section. Just few comments below when someone explained the content…
You’re sick if you think bromance is flirting or gay. Not everything is sexual. Men can in fact be friends and care about and love each other as friends. Stop making everything perverted. I’m not talking about this drama. I’m addressing your comments about bromance in general.
This is one of the most stubborn and annoying FLs I’ve seen. But what if we’re like her and she’s like Nan Heng and she’s actually a great person behind the drama scenes we see😂
Maybe just wait a few more episodes to drop. that way you can binge it and power through the parts that are currently…
You’re exactly right. I should take a break then come back when there’s more episodes out so I can move past the annoying parts quickly instead of stewing in it. I will take your good advice!
I had to pause the episode to rant. WHAT THE FUCK IS SONG YITING’S PROBLEM?! Up until now she was a likeable character and then wtf?!!! What a selfish self-centered POS. She doesn’t even have basic human respect for Li Shiliu
I’m so sick of every historical drama these days having the FL run a shop and be an independent woman who doesn’t…
To clarify, I have no problem with a “strong” entrepreneur FL in modern dramas, but if we’re being realistic, that was impossible in a historic setting. But there were real ways to have influence and power and protect what’s important to you. And I think this drama did a fantastic job portraying that. To me, Manman is one of the strongest FLs I’ve seen in a long time.
In contrast, the antagonist female didn’t believe in the power of sincerity, and suffered a bitter end.
I’m so sick of every historical drama these days having the FL run a shop and be an independent woman who doesn’t need a man blah blah blah. This drama was so refreshing to me and I think had a really beautiful and timely theme of peace and diplomacy. The FL was soft like water, and that was what made her powerful and effective, and made her able to secure her country’s safety and prosperity. She always chose to respect and trust the ML, and he respected and trusted her in turn, eventually becoming completely of one mind, both putting service before self.
This drama is honestly terrible, yet somehow it got me to buy Tencent VIP and even the express package for the first time ever. I had to fast forward through the last two episodes though
