Actually there’s clear signs that he and Rong used to like each other but they never confirmed. Both seemed to be holding out for the other to confess or for someone better. He’s the one who had a change of heart after he met FL. Such a hypocrite accusing FL of being unfaithful when he’s the one who changed first.

Those backstories actually showed he was worse than I thought. Someone who never believed the girl he was supposed to like. Never supported her in anyway. And criticized her every time they met. Then blamed everything on Rong. Never took responsibility for his behavior and actions. Played victim to both Rong and XG. Such a spineless coward in everything he did relationship wise. So what he was a good student and great at work. Not a good candidate for boyfriend or future hubby. When he was thinking about XQ it’s about what she could do for him, if she would take care of him the way Rong did. While LYS always considered what’s best for XG and how to help her
