ANSWERS ***Mild Spoilers***1. Jay's strategic and secretive. Much of what he's doing is likely dependent on him…
I'm not just a viewer, but also a manhwa reader, and honestly, your take is super impulsive for assuming everything has to be identical:

1. Jay didn't need to spill his long-term master plan to Sun, but letting your person know where you're going is basic relationship etiquette. Even if they're not officially dating, their dynamic is deep enough that communicating their whereabouts is just common courtesy so the other person isn't left stressing out. Plus, I feel like you totally missed my point: it's not about Jay keeping his plans secret, it's about how careless he was to just leave some old guy to watch over things when he knows how insanely powerful and unpredictable Songphon is.

2. I am definitely not ignorant of what goes on in the real world. But fiction is literally where we go to see bad guys like Songphon and Sunny actually face consequences for ruining people's lives. It's the one place we can get a tiny bit of satisfaction for justice to be served. If these villains get away scot-free in real life and in fictional dramas too, it just feeds their egos and makes them think no one will ever stop them, on screen or off. Besides, you gotta remember that fiction doesn't always have to mirror the harsh realities of the real world. I mean, the MDL tag literally says #revenge, so where is the actual revenge supposed to be, especially this late in the story???

3. Patience is a virtue, sure, but there's literally only one episode left and the plan still has zero clarity. Even the preview for the upcoming finale is still 100% pure conflict, right before the literal last episode, like what???

4. I'm fully aware of how he is. My point is just that, as a viewer, it's not wrong to hope a character actually shows some growth and gets a bit more genre-savvy and aware of their surroundings. That’s a totally valid expectation.

5. There's nothing wrong with wanting a happy ending, even if it deviates a bit from the manhwa source material. That's literally what plot improvisations and adaptations are for.

Hope this helps

5 reasons why Episode 9 pissed me off so bad:

1. Like, why would Jay just dip to America without telling Sun at all? And leaving zero proper protection/bodyguards behind when he literally knows Songphon is hunting Sun down?

2. I seriously don't get how we’re this deep into the show and the villains haven't faced any consequences. What kind of mind-blowing revenge are they saving for the finale that’s gonna magically satisfy us and make us think it's the "most epic ending ever"?

3. Honestly, it feels like neither Jay nor Sun have a solid revenge strategy. There’s zero step-by-step progression across the episodes. The whole revenge arc is giving absolutely nothing—it’s just stuck and going around in circles.

4. Sun's character in this episode is testing my patience so bad. I've been trying to stay positive for so many episodes, but let's face it: he’s just extremely naive, careless, and impulsive. His decision-making is straight-up trash. Like, what did you expect to happen just showing up empty-handed to face a gangster who is literally out to get you? He is acting so dumb and I hate it here.

5. The preview for the finale gave me zero hope. It looks like it’s gonna be 80% dragging the conflict and only 20% the actual payback and happy ending that we actually want. What was the director even thinking? My brain literally cannot comprehend this mess.

After watched the uncut version dare I say this is the most boring nc scene i've ever seen. I don't hate the actor who played as Saeng cuz he is doing good so far. But honestly he is just a bad kisser. Like wdym you are kissed with a mouth closed tf

As much as I do not want a pushover main character I feel like I understand why Xiaofan is acting the way he does…
You're right but saw some people don't get his situation makes me feel sad, even them call him as a y/n? Like, those people don't know what he going through. For me who experience the same thing that's why his character so relatable for me

I'm not saying this for no reason, it's based on my own experience. Even when I know i'm capable but hearing people judge me just makes me feel stupid and confused about what to do. I'm so pressed by what they say. That's why xiao fan situation so relatable for me.

I wish people will be wise about xiao fan character development and not judge him over short conclusion you don't understand what it caused
