NOT a cliché catastrophic love story but in fact a marvellous jewel.

I have never been a fan of “love stories” or any dramas that have been set up in 1970/1980s. I prefer modern or extreme historic dramas but this one is so different then many other that I’ve watched.

Story/Plot:
Youth of May- the name itself signifies the story of the leads. It’s a love story taking place in Gwangju during the 1980s in the midst of the democracy movement. The main love story isn’t directly connected to the movement but plays a big role in the story. The basic plot of the story depicts Hwang Hee Tae, who comes from a well off and well known family but hasn’t lived the best life. On the other hand, we have Kim Myung Hee a kind and selfless nurse who although is very strong, tries her best to not show her weak side. Although many might find the story a little slow paced, I in fact adored how beautifully we could see the chemistry of our leads grow scene after scene. There are many life lessons of this drama that truly did catch my attention in many ways.
While focusing on the leads, I loved how the support cast was had their fair share in the story and none of the support characters were “useless”. All the characters played an important role and made the story what it is.

Acting/Cast: (EXCELLENT AND OUTSTANDING)
Each and every cast member did an outstanding job in portraying their roles. The most notable actors for me were lee do hyun- I’ve seen him in many dramas playing totally different roles in all and he has scored each and every one of em’! He’s definitely one of the most remarkable actors of the generation. Go min si- I’m shook at how versatile she is. From love alarm to sweet home and now THIS- they are all completely different roles and yet she’s portrayed them flawlessly!
Geum Sae Rok- this is my first drama with her and man I’m in love with her skills! It doesn’t look like she’s acting and that’s how real she is. In fact she’s definitely my favourite character!
Choi seung hoon- I’ve followed this little man in a few dramas and man he’s good. He depicts the emotions of his character extremely well! He’s pretty talented!

Characters: (of imp roles)
Hwang Hee Tae: I think it’s safe to say that he was MADLY in love with Myung Hee, which is why he could be considered somewhat selfish. I mean love does make one selfish- which is why his top priority had always been to make sure that Him and Myung Hee were safe and together. I loved how he was EXTREMELY respectful and gentle. Genuinely, he’s not a man anyone world wanna lose. He’s playful yet sad- he’s perfect with all his imperfections!

Myung Hee: I love her. She’s tries her best to live with honesty and her selflessness is very attractive. She’s the kinda person who’ll risk herself to help a stranger. Although she does have a hard life, she’ll never show herself being sad in-front of the people who care for her. She’s an extremely strong woman, which is why I respect her.

Soo Ryun: I started from strongly disliking her to absolutely loving her. In the beginning, she was selfish and not the most honest person- but I get where that came from. As episodes passed, I understood her more and I absolutely loved and adored how she didn’t give a damn about her love life and dedicated herself to her country and citizens. She’s extremely strong and doesn’t need anyone to take care of her, which is why she’s my favourite!

Hwang Gi Nam (Hee Tae’s dad): Annoying, hateful, cunning, merciless, disloyal and if I could- I would love to kill him myself.

Overall: Truly a masterpiece and definitely worth a one time watch. It has it’s own fair share of tears (a river or maybe a sea) and happiness! I recommend this to everyone if your looking to watch a drama that’s of high quality and amazing presence.

Rewatch Value: If your strong enough, then yea go for it! Watch it again! I personally wouldn’t rewatch it except for a few scenes!

Edit: Yayyy! I’ve been analysing and writing this review since episode 1 and now I’m finally here!

Snowdrop, the perfect blend of chaos and an emotional rollercoaster.

I won’t make this long and boring so here goes nothing. Watching Snowdrop, you will feel every emotion humanly possible. Laughter, anger, sadness, happiness, butterflies in your stomach, anxiety, anticipation, etc. etc. I started watching this for Jisoo but stayed for each and every cast member.
This show has a little bit of everything- Romance, Suspense, Action, Drama and Thriller.
The best part about watching this drama is that you absolutely can’t predict anything. You can come up w your own theories but never be sure of a possibility.
Now let’s talk about the casting:
Jisoo: I was a bit worried cause I thought it might be too heavy for her to pull off such a character as her first but damn she killed it. She ATE it and left no crumbs. If I were new to kpop/kdrama, I’d think she’s already a very experienced actress.

SooHo: Perfection is an understatement to describe his acting skills. Every emotion was executed with detail and perfection. I’ve been watching him for a long time so I knew what he was capable of but he exceeded all of my high expectations.

Kim Min Gyu: I was planning to only add the above 2 but HAD to mention him. I’ve been watching him for a long time as well but was never “Awed” by his skills. For me, he was always the “Cute or Creepy hot dude” but here- he went out of him damn shell and was absolutely impeccable. I’m so impressed with him here.

The rest of the cast was also ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!
Honourable Mentions:
Kim Hye Yoon (never fails to impress)
Miss Pi
Nam tae il
Kang Moo
Hanna
Yoo in ah (never thought she could pull off such a role w perfection)

Also, the bromance between Kang Moo and Soo Ho was pure bliss to watch!

Music was also on point.

To sum it up, I 100% recommend to watch it. Give it a shot, I’m sure you’ll love it.

A real and raw reality show with NORMAL people!

I was very satisfied with this show. I loved how the couples were all NORMAL people and not very fancy or over the top people with dazzling jobs. For the first time in a while I saw a reality “dating” show which didn’t seem very scripted at all. All of it felt real and raw. I could genuinely make out that every person was being driven by their emotions and not by some script. Of course there were a few things which could’ve definitely been avoided and the episodes could've been shorter, but nonetheless, it was very entertaining and enjoyable. I’m also very satisfied with the way it ended. To sum it up, this show gives you a dose of reality with how actual couples deal with their problems.
I definitely recommend this to whomsoever debating to wether invest their time in watching this or no! Just know that whenever you start this, you’re in for the long run while experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions!

No. Just no.

I do not usually write reviews but I must for this one. After watching Love alarm 2 years ago, love alarm 2 had always been my MOST awaited drama but I can’t believe the fact that now that I finally watched it, it was so trashy. (MY OPINION)
Characters:
Jojo: Omg I absolutely hated the fact that she was SO insensitive and inconsiderate towards Sun Oh’s feelings and what pissed me more was the fact that this ma'am just won’t give Sun Oh answers that he CLEARLY DESERVED. And the worst- she blamed HIM for the shield SHE installed, HERSELF.
Sun Oh: One of my favourite characters was Sun Oh’s character. He had crazy stage presence and when he cried, I cried too. Song Kang did an excellent job portraying Sun Oh. One thing I disliked about him was that even tho he knew himself that he was not over jojo, he kept leading on his girlfriend and gave her false hope.
Hyeyeong: I personally don’t hate him but nor do I like him. He was so inconsiderate towards Sun Oh. When sun oh expressed his feelings to his bestfriend, this man decides to just leave. Every time Sun Oh tried to initiate an actual conversation with him, he just decided to leave. But of course, JGR did a good job acting as HY.
Sun Oh’s “girlfriend”: I didn’t really notice her character. She didn’t have as much presence so she was unnoticeable to me.

Conclusion: I hated the plot. I hated the storyline. I hated everything about this season. I hated how they gave hope to sun oh and jojo’s relationship in season 1 and just ended it in season 2. And the worst part is that they did give hope to their relationship in season 2 but ended it again. Keeping in mind sun oh’s feelings, it was pretty shitty. But then I do love the cast including KSH, SK and JGR!

A little bit of everything!

Story: As the plot itself sounds pretty messy, it’s not as deep as we all thought of it to be. At first I was kinda bored/confused because I thought the plot wasn’t improving but that part went as fast as it came lol. This show had a little bit of every genre- romance, thriller, suspense and action. I normally watch shows that focus mainly on romance but this show totally caught my attention in all aspects.
Acting/Cast: The acting was absolutely amazing by all actors and especially Fah, Krist and the dude who plays Passon (He was magnificent lol) even the girl who plays Mei was amazing! In love with everyone’s acting!
The character development was ABSOLUTELY GREAT! I haven’t seen such an amazing character development in any of the shows and that too with everyone!
Music: overall the music was pretty catchy so it was decent.
Rewatch: Although it isn’t DIRECT but this show definitely has a potential for season 2! I loved how it ended and all the mini side stories! But I wouldn’t rewatch it as a whole as suspense/thriller shows, once you watch them if you wanna rewatch you won’t have AS MUCH fun as when you watched for the first time but I’ll definitely watch a few scenes lol
Overall: Definitely didn’t think I’d like this drama SO MUCH but hell yes I did!! So glad I watched it, I enjoyed it ALOT- oof now my mondays and tuesday’s will be lonely without this showww!!

This show is a rollercoaster.

Honest Review:
From the very first episode till the last one, it was a rollercoaster ride. I started this after Fai sin Chua cause of Fah and Joss as leads and damn.
Yes, this show was a little draggy but damn it let entertained throughout!

Story:
A very cliché typical lakron but like many others, this one keeps you invested till the end. The start was great and the first 4/5 episodes sucked me in and I couldn’t wait for the next episode to air but later on I did get a little bored and didn’t care about the airing schedule but it soon picked up on the spice so it covers up for the draggy part.

Cast:
HATS OFF to the lady playing “Aunt Wee” cause DAMN? She popped off that lady gave it all and which is why I think most people continued till the end for her outcome. She gave her best!
Fah was CRAZY good and after seeing her potential previously in Fai son Chua, I wasn’t surprised by her amazing skills! Joss on the other hand kinda disappointed me. I know he’s great but I just didn’t find his acting impressive which is why I vote the cast as a 9.5/10.
And DAMN LUKE? He is so fine. He played his role superrr well and I had a good laugh thanks to him! That dude can ACT and oof I can’t wait for his new lakron as the lead!!

Music:
LMAOOO the OST/Song was pretty catchy I keep singing it every now and then although I have no idea bout the lyrics lol.

Rewatch:
Since this lakron isn’t a typical ROMCOM that you can binge watch, I give it a 5. You can watch it if your feeling too happy lately and need stress and headache LOL

Overall:
It was nice. It kept me invested and entertained! The leads have good chemistry but MAN I must warn yall, the lakron was SO CRAZY THAT EVEN I WENT CRAZY WATCHING IT. Man I couldn’t stop laughing in the last episode for some reason???? Lol either way, give it a shot! The visuals are pretty good haha. Oof and can we get a Fah and Luke lakron please?!

The classic Romcom cliché, AKA our guilty pleasure!

I was not planning on writing a review but looking at all the hate against the cast and show, it feels like a necessity on my part.
A business proposal is a typical romcom with so many clichés. But what’s the problem with clichés? We all love some sweet romance and some REALLY good laugh! I wouldn’t call this drama a breath of fresh air but instead a feeling that takes us back to home. Watching this reminds me of kdramas from 2016-2018! It’s lighthearted, not so complicated, not dragged and well written at a perfect pace.
The plot is again, cliché but well written. 12 episodes are absolutely perfect for such a plot as it is not dragged at all and keeps us entertained throughout! The writer has tried to mislead us by putting in the typical romcom clichés and misunderstandings to only end them with a good laugh for the viewers. It’s not complicated and takes us on a trip filled with laughter and romance! The bromance, sismance, and romance are all a *chef’s kiss*! Both the parings are so perfect.
Now let’s start with our leads, Kang Tae Moo and Shin Ha Ri!
KTM has all the possible CEO qualities! Handsome, sexy, rich, appears to be cold but is not and of course, our beloved narcissist! His presence in the entire show is what makes it fun for us to watch.
As for SHR, she’s honestly one of the most loveable characters I’ve come across! Effortlessly funny, BEAUTIFUL, kind, caring and a great friend. Watching her is one of the best parts of the show! Kim Se Jeong has done a great job portraying SHR’s character!
Now for the leads chemistry, it’s spot on! Their personalities mesh so well. One of the admirable things about them is how they don’t become cringe with their over sweetness when they’re dating. They keep it real so it’s not a pain to watch 2 adults in love! So there are a few awkward scenes between them which is why I’ve voted the cast as a 9.5 instead of 10 but that’s mostly the camera angles! So it’s not really the actor and actresses fault.
Now as for the second couple,
SIA has done such a marvellous job in pulling off Jin Young Seo’s character! She, like her best friend, is effortlessly funny, a hot chaebol, sassy, smart and kind. The sismance between her and SHR is one of the best things about this drama!
As for Kim Min Gyu, he’s been pulling off all his recent characters with literal perfection. He’s so hot, mysterious, caring and once again, SO HOT. His affection and respect for KTM is so adorable. He may appear to be rude but he’s just being straightforward lol
Now for JYS and CSH’s chemistry- I think “sizzling” is the only way to describe it. Both their personalities collide only to form a bold power couple! I must say, their story will NOT disappoint you! And watching them drunk is literally the best!

The music is honestly so refreshing and pleasant! Love it!

As for rewatching, I’ll definitely be rewatching it soon! After watching those dark and thriller dramas and the bittersweet endings, this is something I need!

Overall, I highly recommend it to everyone! Do give it a go, you might end up loving it.

Unfortunate waste of an amazing pairing and a good script with potential. And NEXT LVL CRINGE.

The plot seems simple: Cliché stereotype drama where a the leads meet at a club but then find out that their colleagues and then the employee falls for her super stunning boss and they have office Romance BUT with all this comes the secrets and lies. Doesn’t seem as bad as most reviews right? Well that’s what I thought at first.

Main Review: This was one of my most awaited lakorn since last year as I thought it was lighthearted and something that didn’t FOCUS on revenge literally (cause 99% of lakorns revolve there) The trailer TOTALLY sucked me in and honestly the first 2 episodes were BOMB! But then came the cringe. THE CRINGE WILL HIGHKEY KILL YOU. They are CUTE AF but dang must the writers make it seem THIS cringe? The script has so much potential to just be a cute lakorn for once without any unnecessary drama and let them just be as it is and cute but thr writers really said: NO

Cast/Character: Mook is obviously a very good and versatile actress but this role of hers just seemed as a waste of her good talent. I liked Nim at first but then later on- all this girl did was DAYDREAM instead of ACTUAL WORK?
As for Luke, we all know that this is probably his first ACTUAL BIG MAIN role and he did exceptionally good and obviously he has a lot to improve tho as he did seem pretty awkward at times. As for his character- Akitsuki, that man was problematic. He’s hot and handsome but definitely VERY problematic. Honestly, Nim forgave him WAY to easily and it was pretty obvious that he preferred his career over Nim (The last episode might be an “eye opener” but that’s the case in more than half of the drama.)

Music: I LOVR LOVE LOVE THE OST- it’s literally soooo cute and fun lmao I want it on Apple Music hahahah

Overall: Like I said, it’d be SO MUCH better if they would’ve cut down the cringe, kinda obsessed with the ML and timid FL and the RED FLAGS since episode 1 ML. And of course, the unnecessary problematic part of the show. But I think overall it was cute. It’s good to watch it as a one time but nah not worth rewatching but I might rewatch a few cute scenes.

A masterpiece takes time to be made. Alice in borderland 2 certainly proved it.

After 2+ long years of waiting, it’s finally here! I was not disappointed with season 1 but was infact hyped with higher expectations for season 2. They took their time to make this season and certainly did not disappoint at all.

The overall concept of AIB never fails to blow my mind. After such a hard season 1, I couldn’t imagine how they’d continue season 2 but oh well- they obviously kept the best for last. I love how none of the parts seemed “useless” or “boring”. Each and every thing was connected which made it even more exciting to watch. We were introduced to some new bombass characters and they were definitely keeping the tension high.
An easy 10/10 for the plot.

Do I even have to write about the cast? We all know how perfect every character fits. But I must give it to Dori. I’ve seen him in countless dramas and he always has a very unique role. Him as Niragi is completely different from how I’d seen him in other dramas. He’s a truly versatile actor. Like I mentioned, the cast was no doubt, AMAZING; special mentioning for everyone who played the villain cause they are absolute legends.

To define this season in one word, it’s exciting. I don’t want it to end. It’s so much fun. It’s so worth the hype and talk. I can’t bare people calling it “overhyped”.

Alice in borderland 2, unarguably an 11/10.

Even if you’re into RomComs, watch episode 1 and you will want to continue.

I’m not a person to write reviews but the way Sweet Home had an impact is insane.
The Story line was amazing, from the very first scene to the very last one. It was well distributed between suspense, thriller, horror (for me), trust and friendship. I didn’t think it’d be that good but finally gave it a try last night and poof- in 12 hours I’m done watching this show.
The cast SHOOK me. I didn’t think Song Kang would portray his character so well. Another character that shook me was ji-su. (the nam ju ur girl from it’s ok to not be ok) I found her character extremely annoying in IOTNBO but here- dang this girl was rocking it. Each and every cast member fitted their role perfectly.
The music was good as we were familiar with a few songs and I liked how it matched the scenes.
I gave Re-Watch an 8 cause I’ll rewatch it when I wish to bawl my eyes out.
Overall: Exceeded my expectations. I really didn’t expect it to be this good and I’m so impressed. This DEFINITELY has potential for season 2 and I’ll cry if there’s no season 2 cause PLEASE! I’m kinda scared cause Netflix is kinda famous for AMAZING season 1 but kinda shitty season 2 with unnecessary plot twists. Hopefully it won’t be the case here and they announce a season 2!

“It’s Never too late for trying something you love” This is the highlight.

I don’t usually write many reviews but this is such a masterpiece that I must. This is the second Song Kang drama that I’m writing a review cause he just doesn’t ever fail to impress me.

Honestly, after the disappointing Love Alarm 2.0 I just wanted to support Song Kang in general which is why I decided to watch this. I had no intention of watching it cause it was totally opposite of what I normally watch. I thought the plot was boring but had to watch it for Song Kang.
Although I had very little expectations, the first episode itself was so beautiful and captivating. I’m so glad that I decided to watch it cause it’s so inspiring. The plot seemed so complete after watching the first episode.

Acting/Cast: The cast was so perfect. No one could’ve acted better than the actors who are acting. The way they all pulled of their role SO WELL is no joke- I am so impressed by song kang after this cause his acting skills are no joke. He is definitely gonna go a long way. The actor is harabeoji, he was so perfect. The way he portrayed his role SO WELL is insane. The teaching teaching Chae rok and ho beom were so amazing.

Side story: Apart from the ML’s story, Ho beom’s story caught my attention so well. I felt his pain through his acting and I felt why he rebelled. His character and acting were so heart touching, I low-key fell for him lol.

Overall: I was highly impressed and inspired. So glad I watched it.

Exceeded The Standards of a Korean Drama

The way I’m SHOOK by this is unbelievable.
Everything about this was a chef’s kiss.
The Cast was SO PERFECT! Most importantly everything in this drama was balanced. Comedy, Romance, Suspense, Thriller, Action, Bromance (what we crave)- everything was extremely well balanced.
This drama has exceeded the standards of a Korean drama. This is international level y’all.

Cast: The cast was so perfect. Each and every character ROCKED their role and nobody could’ve done it better than them. I was a little concerned about Tacyeon cause he is a cutie and the role of the villain seems new but like damn that man was perfect. I’ve seen many joon ki dramas and I know his capability, but the way he impressed me here is INSANE!

Overall: I really recommend this to EVERYONE. No matter what genre your into you will come to love this. It’s a high quality drama made with utmost care. I really respect this dram. Majorly impressed!

*Major Spoilers Ahead*

I was mad they killed Han Seo, but it was realistic. I can understand why they killed my sweetheart cause it seemed really realistic.
The End: I was honestly very surprised by the end (in a good way) I am highly impressed by the way it ended cause it seemed the best. No matter what people wanted they did not kill the image of Mafia Vincenzo Cassano. No matter how much he loves our little miss Hong, he did not forget his principle and his identity of a mafia and I’m impressed. This IS how a mafia would realistically choose. This HIGH KEY seemed like I was watching a high end Italian drama. I am so impressed and I honestly recommend this to everyone!

Better than the original?

The Korean version:
I’ll be honest I saw the Korean version long back and didn’t enjoy it very much except for a few scenes which were really funny! It was pure timepass for me and I didn’t really get attached to the characters as much.

In comparison:
I genuinely didn’t think that I’d like this so much. For the first time in a while, I could find myself connecting with not only the leads but also the supporting cast. In fact I actually prefer this support cast more as they were to intact and funny! I didn’t start this with many expectations but I came to love it as I finished it in less than 24 hours!

Plot:
Two girls with the same name and surname always mistaken for each other- the pretty girl had her pretty pass as the “unlucky” one always felt that the pretty girl took everything from her when in fact it wasn’t anyone’s fault. Years later pretty ploy is about to marry the ML but leaves him on the wedding day. Then the ML mistakes unlucky ploy for pretty ploy and sets out for revenge by sabotaging her wedding.
As the original, it was very very similar although it had a touch of its own. I liked how this one emphasised on the “pretty pass” concept more. Although a few scenes that were in the original were not here (like the iconic scene where the leads are all over each other and the best friend is behind the couch) they pretty much went for 90% of the scenes from the original.

Acting/Cast:
Like I mentioned, I absolutely loved the cast. They seemed comfortable, funny and bonded. I honestly didn’t think that the kissing scenes and many others would actually be as intense as the original but dang I was surprised! I loved the ML’s brother with his girl and his sister with the best friend! It felt warm and real!

Music:
I felt that the music pretty much matches everything.

Overall:
I’m impressed. It was funny, emotional and romantic at the same time. But MAN- the second hand embarrassment I felt for the FL is INSANE- I don’t know I felt so embarrassed every time she did something but man I loved her personality. No matter what she went through- she always put on a smile and positively started each day.

Rewatch Value:
I’d definitely rewatch it if I’m done with my other lakrons and dramas on the list! A nice Sunday with some good food is definitely a good time to rewatch!
