This is seriously good. One of the best k-dramas I've watched this year. I really can't find anything major to criticize. I get that shows with a female protagonist tend to get lower scores on MDL, but 7.9 is ridiculous.

Not so much succession storylines specifically, but similar in they are shows that start well, but go downhill during the season.

It's been a real trend this year and not just with k-dramas. I keep running into the same problem with most c-dramas recently.

It wasn't that bad, but as the season went on we got way too few ghosts, and way too much of a yet another unoriginal chaebol family infighting plot, mixed in with a rather tepid romance. At least they do wrap up the story fairly well in the finale, which is something I can't say about a lot of kdramas and cdramas this year.

There is a Chinese show on WeTV called Forever By Your Side with mature singles 50+. I haven't watched it so I can't say how good it is.

It's only on Kokowa in my region. Don't ask me why Netflix preferred to pick up reality shows like Better Late than Single and The Love Lab, which are far inferior to this show.

The panel was the only good thing about this show and I usually complain when they give the panels too much screen time.

Another quirky cute Japanese romcom aimed at fans of slow-burn wholesome romances, as well as at foodies. The best thing about this one were the two leads and the well written and paced relationship between them. Unfortunately, the ridiculously exaggerated over-the-top secondary characters (particularly our lead's two CEO's) were not even close to as funny as they were intended to be and all too often just interrupted the flow of the story. The detailed descriptions of the preparation of food for the bento boxes was also not particularly of interest to me, but at least it was directly relevant to the development of the relationship between the leads. Overall, I give it an 8/10

She's good. The best thing about this series.

If the objective of a comedy is to make you repeatedly burst into laughter, then this one was is a complete success. Never mind the cheesy chaotic ridiculous plot. The infectious energy on stage of the cast even made me enjoy the performances though the music was exactly the kind of K-pop I don't usually like.

I thought S2 retained the relentless pacing, slick choreography, and high tension of S1, even as they greatly expanded the scope of the story. But the larger cast, heavy body count and sprawling plot do take some of the focus away from the FL, whose evolution from panicky survivor into a hardened, decisive leader probably deserved more attention. In any case, it turned out to be one of this year's better action series, though perhaps not quite up to the level of S1.

Love Catcher has one of the worst most annoying panels of any Korean dating reality show.

I can certainly understand how one could end up with a misplaced view of an ancestor. My father is a direct descendent of American General Winfield Scott, a man who was very popular and even a Presidential candidate in the pre-Civil War years. My grandmother constantly praised the general during my father’s childhood, as did the American History textbooks of the time (1950’s-early 60’s). It wasn’t until my father made a trip to Mexico during his college years that he discovered another more brutal and bloody view of the Scott led invasion of Mexico during the Mexican-American war. Even more serious is when even cursory research turned up the fact that the same ancestor had presided over the forced removal of the Cherokee to the west in the infamously brutal “Trail of Tears” (something that had made it into the American history textbooks by the time I was in high school 20 odd years later). It was this last that caused my father to switch to using his second name rather than Winfield. As he explained, it wasn’t that we should feel any guilt over General Scott’s actions - passing on that kind of guilt to 4 or 5 generations down the line was ridiculous. But he also didn’t want to be associated in any way with that particular ancestor and felt embarrassed at having once boasted, out of ignorance, of his relation to the general.

It's much better written and paced than Home Town Cha Cha Cha.

The beginning was so silly that I almost dropped it. Glad I didn't since it keeps getting better and better as the season goes on. It's very much the exception among this year's kdramas which have tended to go downhill in the later part of the season.
