IMO, 'An Ancient Love Song' fell victim to its own constraints—both timewise (it’s only 7 hours in total length) and the fact that it was a low budget drama. Time travel is tricky to get right; spacing out their meetings between 10 (or even 15 years) made it slightly harder for me to invest in and take their love story...
