I never thought that I would be able to see a South Korean BL musical (produced in 2013), about a love triangle between three discontinued snacks. It was really very entertaining.
This is actually supposed to be a comedy, light drama about high school kids experiencing love and relationship…
I enjoy Aoki's exaggerated emotions, expressions and "over the top-ness" because, that's established who he is as a character. Just like how serious, controlled, stoic, and "older beyond his years" Ida is as a character. How Akkun is being portrayed as this "happy go lucky" guy and best friend to Aoki, while Hashimoto is the really shy, sweet girl, who cannot find the strength to confess her feelings to her crush, but becomes a fierce lioness, defending Aoki and how others view him, especially Akkun.
This is such a joy to watch and you couldn't pay me to relive my teenage years in high school, but this series makes me smile. All of the feelings that you can have and experience at a moments notice, due to someone either returning a smile, giving you a compliment, or just saying "hello", can make you feel confused. I love that Ida (who is definitely an old man reincarnated as a teenager), freely admits that he doesn't know how to react, because he hasn't experienced the feelings of liking someone more than as a friend before. It's great to have this sort of portrayal, with a character that everyone would assume would know what to do about it. I loved how he helped the lovely and sweet manager, who has the inappropriate crush on his volleyball team's coach. Aoki, Akkun, and my favorite gal Hashimoto are all in their meltdowns over their crushes. When they all finally settle down and feel okay with dating their true loves, it will definitely be worth the wait!!
I love both versions of the 2 Moons adaptions. It's problematic that we'll never get a sequel to the 2 Moons 2 series, due to the production company and their issues. I wish the best for all of the actors that were involved in both tv adaptions.
Pat and Pran are so much in love with one another. Pat finding any sort of excuse to be around Pran now, because he knows that Pran has feelings for him. Pran not wanting to be charmed by Pat, but slowly falling for him all over again is wonderful to see.
I just wish, as I have wished for since watching my 60th BL series: that those cutesy "swoosh and swirl" sounds would be cut from these shows. I am not sure if it is due to budgetary reasons and/or not getting rights to use instrumental background music, but those sounds annoy me immensely.
I think that the main goal, besides getting Jung Woo and Do Gun together (which I loved), was for Do Gun to actually…
Yes, the actions of both Laura and Jung Woo were despicable, but Do Gun chose to forgive him. He wanted to forgivr him, so that he could allow Jung Woo to still be in his heart.
I ADORE THIS SERIES!!
