My opinion on this is, even though BLs started from female vantage point and needs fantasy in it, the genre can…
"But without that "guy trying to get the other guy to fall for him" or "both guys slowly falling for each other" magic, BL just wouldn't be the same."
I don’t think that viewers, like me are asking for those types of tropes to be eliminated from the BL fantasy genre. All that I would like to see is more series, that aren't always centered on the high school/early college lives of pretty young boys/males, who are always under the age of 21 years old. Luckily, we are definitely getting series that aren't centerted in that environment and gives the growing, and developing viewing audience, an opportunity to see more fictionalized tales of love between two male characters.
I'm definitely going to love this series. The casting for ALL of the characters IS perfect. They nailed it, with the actors portraying the younger and older versions of these characters.
And finally Ida showing up with that same hair cut was even more hillarious. I was legit rolling on the floor.
I just imagine the hair stylist initially telling Hashimoto, "I know that you requested this haircut, but honey, don't make me do that to you! You're such a pretty girl!"

LOL. I think I had the same look of disbelief and shock as Aoki had, when he saw Ida walking in the classroom with Akkun. Huge sigh of relief left my body, once Ida took that wig off.
someone needs to arrest aoki because no one is allowed to be this adorable. & steal so many hearts.
Aoki is seriously adorable and I just love how he's written to be such a sweet guy, that truly cares about others, is what makes him more attractive to Ida. Ida continues to fall more in love with Aoki and that love helps him to become more at ease with who he is as a person. He's not so guarded and reserved. He wants to be able to share things with his boyfriend.
As for Hashimoto and her forgetful Akkun. ::heart eyes:: This series is wonderful ❤ 👏!
