I'm finding it hard so far to get into this weird and quirky drama and I'm certainly not into the ever-present pork blood soup which is a bit revolting. It's all a bit slow and though Pun and Yo have some chemistry, perhaps it'll heat up in the next episode or two.
I'm glad Tee's character was fleshed out with awful his home life and how he met White, and overall the latest episode does a bit to ameliorate the wrong he did to Non, but I'm still not sure if Non is dead or alive. The person I like least is Por. The whole thing is still confusing because there are too many characters, too many fluctuating relationships and most if not all of them have done things they should be ashamed of.
Apart from the fact it's just not that interesting, the subtitles half the time are so bad it's impossible to know what the hell they're talking about.
There is something ineffably pure about the relationship between Pi Yeng and Ever 9 and combined with the pristine environment in which they live makes this series unique in a way that I find adorable and heartwarming, even though that may sound like a contradiction, given that this a romance between a robot and human.
Shot mostly in the seedier back streets of Bangkok, this is a raw and violent movie depicting what happens when two boys get caught up in the world of illicit drugs and the thugs who control their dispersion, who frequently find where they are and viciously assault them but who always manage to escape. Towards the end the two boys clash with this criminal gang who beat them to a pulp, punching, kicking and whacking them with heavy pieces of wood, enough to kill them, and then they are even shot, but is that the end of them? Oh no, one is a little the worse for wear and the other lies unconscious in a hospital bed, but very soon, they're up and about as if they'd never gone through these traumatic experiences. The two boys become close through their shared need to stay together but it never goes further than a bromance. The subtitles leave something to be desired and combined with how the movie is put together, it's a little hard to follow properly. It's not an easy or pleasant watch so I find it hard to recommend unless this gritty sort of drama appeals to you.
I've now watched this movie twice; the first time was six years ago. It remains an absorbing and powerful movie. The Japanese have a penchant for creating tragic movies with unhappy endings. Fortunately, this is not one of them and though one could call Amakami a tragic figure, at least he lives to see another day, albeit not the boy he was at the beginning. The cast is excellent and the music captures the mood very well. I recommend it but not the other Boys Love movies.
The subtitles have improved but serious work needs to be done to get the pronouns correct - they are wrong and often misleading. I can see why Sroi dumped Pluem: he's a dickhead. What Prod sees in him I can't fathom. They appear to have little to no chemistry as well.
Sweet, a bit silly and corny, but it's bubbling along nicely. Krom is cute like a puppy. For me though, it is Kimmon as Kor who stole Ep. 4. In fact, I think this is his best role yet and he's looking the best I've ever seen him.
A truly wonderful series blending the supernatural with reality in a dramatic love story that had me gripped to the screen the whole time and wondering till the last moment if Tharn would reunite with Phaya. Those two are meant for each other and portray the most convincing lovers I've seen in quite a while. After the end credits, it seems there will be a special episode!
I agree, the subtitles are a mess - that also extends to the title - the editing leaves a lot to be desired and the names of characters, even the MLs, are barely mentioned. What is it that Pluem has done to cycle through so many girlfriends? And what's that continuous reference to 'the necklace' he goes on about it in connection with one nameless girl? If it weren't for the description, it would be even harder to follow than it already is. I'm surprised WeTV let such a subpar program go to air like this. The basics are there, it's just not put together well. All aspects of this show better pick up fast or else it's going to lose a lot of viewers and get a very low rating.
Overall, I enjoyed this series as it followed the ups and downs of Prem and his friends doing their best to win a cooking contest with a few love stories thrown in for good measure. I have to admit my favourite couple were Fyre and Dynamite (Neo and Aungpao) whose rocky road to true love was most entertaining. Aungpao is quite a find. He's cute and talented. I hope to see more of him and he could certainly become a ML in a future series.
It's just far too complicated to voice an opinion about anything but it seems to me in Ep. 9 things didn't move forward, there were a few revelations and back at the house where they shot the film they're at each other tooth and nails. For me, Tee is still the main villain and equally Por is horrible for the way he treated Non.
This is a lot better than I thought it would be and won't be put off by the negative comments it has received, most of which I think are unjustified. I have just watched Eps. 1 - 3 and everyone on the show is very nice though I found Juju objectionable in both looks and personality. Fueang having confessed he likes Krom and Krom having told Too, his best friend, he likes Fueang, I'm sure it's not going to take long before the two become a couple. Too, by the way, is really cute. Kimmon as Kor I mostly remember from Gen Y and here plays a more mature role, a fellow actor like Fueang. The setup and storyline for Krom and Fueang are well thought out but this early on in the series, who knows what's in store for them. The main thing is that I'm enjoying it and look forward to seeing how it all develops.
