I think it is underrated. You complain about the ending the most, I am disappointed in that too. There where many way for LLH to avoid to give the flower to the emperor, but in my opinion they choice this to follow the novel ending. I found it lazy too. But still,even after all the efforts his friends make to gain it, it has always been only LLh, and HIS ALONE, the choice to decide about his life and so to take the flower or not and he choice not to. But we are talking about the last episodes here, it cannot really compromise the quality of the whole drama.
About LLH charachter grow, LX persnality is mostly presented to us only by the words of other characters, but in 10 years from a strongh, arrogant, unforgiving young fighter he become a calm, smart and reflexive deeper man! His growth and his change from LX to LLH is explained when LLH talk with the doublespy, and is heartbreaking and admirable at the same time!!!!
The tragic situation he was in, his body deadly poisoned and wounded, everything he lived for, his energy and fighter skill, lost forever. Now alone, berayed by his companion, without friend, without a love. He was shattered in thousands pieces in body and mind, but even in that situation he survived....and survive take efforts.
That is where this drama took a different route from all of the other revenge drama , instead of becoming obsessed by revenge and blinded by hate... his efforts to simply surviving all alone make him forget about his rage and his hate. He realize that simple living, living freely from everything and as one wish to, was more meaningfull than everything he ever did.
This is the change LLH go trought in 10y ,there is no bigger or deeper character grow possible than this.
Then, about reviving the sect? deeper meaning in persisting in it? Sound like the classic plot of a revenge,fighter drama. This means that you miss the meaning of the whole show. For once the main theme it is not to costantly fight and battle to gain something or always have more, but just to let go of the past and the conflicts in it (and the difficulties in doing so), and to not be influenced by the expectations of others. Just to freely live the live that you want as you want it. It is an incredibly refreshing and appreciated new theme to put in wuxia/fighter drama. That is why i say that is underrated.😁

I have to say that after seeing Cheng Yi in other drama i realized how good LLH hairstyle is, so simple and so elegant. Well, consider that he keep it hidden from FDB for a long time, it is unlikely that people really heard him cought so much. They probably just started to talk about it and exaggerete it. And the angry butcher was just shouthing the wrost things he heard to curse at him. But still to shout things like that to a sweet, cunning and carefree LLH while he was walking away in the street, was really mean and also let you painfully guess that there was something terribly wrong with his healt!!!😭😭

But Cheng yi+beautifull ost combo, made some pretty amazing moments even here.😄 I mean, how not to madly love Cheng yi sad, sweet, bloody smile with tearing eyes and tragic music😍😍😍 Only to see that, it was was worth to wach 50 episode of pure annoyance 😆😆

I think that this drama is still a lot underrated.😄 If it is not your cup of tea is ok, i generally write my opinion after seeing all the drama but at each theyr own. Anyway every story is used and reused, it is how you play it that make it good or bad and MLC make a really great work with it. It add some refreshing, new and interesting theme to the old one and keep it's quality at the best, is amazing. You should undestand that if you like a boring, banal used and reused old rom com story.😐 I feel very offended too when you say that "that" can't be compared to such a brillant drama as MLC is.😐😐😐

NOF is peerless. Never seen a better drama from the start to the end (and i have seen a lots). No filler,beautifull osts, outstanding cast and the story has the perfect balance with emotion, action and politics. The quality as its whole is unparalleled. It is impossible to be bored while with JOL and SSS.....they cannot really be compared to the quality of NOF,defnitly not.

Now I am waching all his drama, he is amazing but after seen him in all his role i still think that LLH is the best character choice for a great actor like him. Only LLH has such a variety of expression that put at good use his talent. I have seen JZ and XSY in other drama, but they are just neutral to me😁, even if i like them very much here.

I dont like much detective/mystery story and barely knew someone from the cast. I like well done drama. The main story, the cast, the characters and theyr developpements, all the drama as a whole is so good , equilibrated and well done that regardless the genere one must just appreciate a good show!😁
So....i am at 1/3 of the drama and i undestand that this is one of those show where the fl save the ml 1x time, while the ml save the fl 1000x times and..... he will never repay her? :/ Not to mention all the suffering 1000x on the ml, while for the fl only 10x BUT she get all the simpaty and help with her self-centeredness, while the smart and strong ml that always undestand everything is all alone to suffer and most of the time there isnt even anyone that know what he go trought for her :/ While of course there is always someone ready to see what she do and to point it out to the ml just to make him feel worse, and in meantime she live in her blissed ignorance of everything he does for her and how much he suffer for her :/ I have to say that lots of romance drama are like this (like 95%), but at least this drama have a good general quality, the ost are great and Cheng Yi as usual is amazing. They victimize too much the fl but she is a little bit less self-centered than many others fls but still the way they treat her vs the way they treat the ml is so unfair that it really annoy me.
Edit: forget it, she is the most self-centred cruel fl i have ever seen in a drama
