That's one of my general problems with this series. It doesn't know how to set the mood. I keep wondering what emotions they were going for in this or that scene. Like I don't get why they didn't tell us K had an aversion to kissing before the pier scene - I couldn't read that kiss at all.

I thought he was just admiring and getting turned on by the mark P left on his chin. How much more interesting and sinister it'd be, if they showed us a blurry image of a naked body in bed or chained to a cross in the background:) We could assume he's naked cause he's in the middle ofrelieving himself by giving vent to his feelings;)

If we were talking about mainstream media smuggling in harmful tropes/stereotypes, that can be internalised by the viewers and perpetuate undesirable behaviours, I'd agree. But for a bl show that's based on erotica involving non-con, that's clearly established itself as sth from a fantasyland in ep2, and is at least in theory aimed at titillating mature audiences? Imo you've both overstating its impact on the psyche and people who watch it know very well what they're coming for.
In the context of MDL, this thread is so spammy and repetitive, I think anyone visiting at any time of the week would learn quickly there's gonna be at least dub-con between the main pair and can proceed at their own risk.

Personally, I think slightly dark-themed shows like this, containing erotic but not graphic content, are a pretty safe way for people to explore their fantasies involving dub-con/non-con. Having said that, I didn't like the way that scene flowed either. I'd prefer it if Porsche sobered up, except I'd wish he did that by having a longer pleasure-pain session with Vegas;)

Anyway, let's wait for the fallout - that'll be what establishes their dynamic for me. I generally prefer wholesome relationships at the center of a story, but if this show goes in a different direction, I'll accept it. I consider myself forewarned.

Those trailers are perfect bait. I honestly still don't get why they went for this weird mix of sitcomy humour with a crime setting. I guess they know their audience? I agree completely - I've had a hard time letting go of the more serious P too. I thought those two would go together into danger and battle it out between themselves, then it's gonna overflow into sex. But I'm already in the acceptance stage;) trying to get to know those two without preconceptions.

That tray scene was actually really funny! I thought V kidnapped P because of some rivalry with Kinn, who's staked a claim on him? But now probably got turned on by P fighting back. Honestly though we know so little about the background so far. Wish they weren't dosing out the information like it was precious diamond dust lol.

In erotic drama/book? Not at all. A lot of people have fantasies involving nonconsensual scenarios and that's one safe place to explore those. In a show like let's say 2019 'Unbelievable'? Very very much.

I don't get why no one talked/was concerned about what was P flying high on? First thing I'd do was call a doctor. At least get the guys to go after the bartender - they could just call kinn with the info about the drug, it'd have taken 10s screen time and made the situation much less ambiguous.
I know it's fantasy but details make good storytelling:) Like I don't get why they only revealed Kinns aversion to kissing this week. If we knew about it last week that kiss on the pier would've had so much more impact.
On that note, I have to assume there were some time skips, cause they really should've at least suggested P brushed his teeth. Even though I know Kinn's reaction had to do with his dislike of kissing, I can't control my thought patterns - when they kissed and Kinn made that face - I was like ewww vomit sharing…

I also was surprised they went from that playful beginning to penetrative sex so quickly. For one it's the first time with a man, plus he's under influence, the other finally got his hands on the guy he was lusting after for weeks. I'd assume they'd take their time enjoying some other fun things first. But maybe that's just me projecting lol.

I dropped this last week but my friend sent me screenshots of Vegas lol. Finally there's the cinematic quality from the trailer! They still take a rather leisurely stroll with the plot, though Kim's intro was interesting. I think letting go of expectations is the way to enjoy this series. I'm probably in the minority that hoped Vegas would've gone much further… Though that last scene did whet my appetite a little. The bathroom scene started so fun and playful. Porsche was so disarming that he'd probably crumble my will too, though I don't really find him attractive;) But I totally get his fascination with Kinn's chest, because wow! The rest of the scene… I think it could've flowed better - I'll put my unpopular opinion under spoiler:)

To me flashbacks are a good way to quickly introduce/make me connect with the characters. Tbh I don't like dialogue heavy dramas. My mind easily wanders off if it doesn't get visual stimulation:)

I feel like I need an organisational chart to watch this series - except they all look so similar it may not help much lol. Every time someone enters the stage, I need a moment to figure out where to place him, but by that time he's already said a bunch of stuff and I'm like waiiiit what? I think it'd be best to skim watch a few eps to figure out who is who and what's happening, and then start again. But I'm not gonna do that, so I'm one confused puppy so far… Also, please tell me ep3 has more action. Ep2 was so dialogue-heavy I kept mentally checking out and had to rewind a few times.

Second this! Sigh, I was so determined to like Luoyang... Hope this one exceeds the expectations instead.

The earthy muted tones and a revolving door of similarly looking characters having long conversations almost put me to sleep on ep1. I don't mind dense plots from the start, but I prefer to get some background on the protagonists first so I actually care about the stakes and outcome. Thankfully the recap at the end made me curious about the story:) Btw I really liked the lighting here - half of the frames looked like sth from a medieval painting<3

Halfway through and I've no idea where this plot is going lol. It's more like a bunch of random arcs connected with - what else? - thirst for revenge/hidden identity, cause Jianghu is a small world where everyone knows everyone and have personal or generational grudge to settle;))

But! I'll finish this for sure one day because I just lurve this bunch of nutty characters<3 Starting with the sexually frustrated, ingenious torturer, cat mommy villain with a pastime of skinning people. Magnetic charismatic MLs giving me auditory orgasms with their murmurings - 20 eps and they rarely speak in a normal tone, just this leisurely murmur sometimes delivered right into the FL ear… My love for the FL is of a tempestuous nature - I'd love to reach in and shake her then cuddle her to death… it's complicated lol.

So anyway, this drama .. a little twisted ...a little funky ...a little slow-paced and melodramatic ...a lot mystique ...and it should be renamed to bloody romances, cause there's certainly more than one;)
