Yes. Same for the anti-capitalism speech but with product placements. How to lessen the power of the conveyed…
Personally, it doesn't bother me at all. If they criticized consumerism, I'd be the first to laugh. But calling for fair treatment under the law or criticising how the privileged controlling the entirety of the production chain paired with impunity and corruption keeps 'proletariat' in its place? I don't think showing a few logos/products detracts in anyway from the show's message.
What? I thought Sean was gay? Isn't he gay? I thought there was palpable tension from him towards both White and…
Hmm, was the hate verbalised? Cause I got a kinda different vibe. Anyway, as I said I could've missed sth. What made you think he's unequivocally straight then?
What? I thought Sean was gay? Isn't he gay? I thought there was palpable tension from him towards both White and…
Good to know I'm not alone:) With her? Really? I didn't read any interest there - from both sides. There was like half a meter between them on that bed.
This was a good episode, but they're trying to have it both ways. It's incongruous to have a strong statement…
What? I thought Sean was gay? Isn't he gay? I thought there was palpable tension from him towards both White and Black in the flashback.... Did I miss sth or talk myself into it? I wasn't focused 100% of the time...
Alright, I have to put away my grumpy cat suit, because this episode was so good and gave me so many feels, I don't even care what went down in ep6 anymore:D Though, I'll just say that I'm happy the writers let it be acknowledged onscreen how stupid that plan was and its impact from a wider perspective (esp. the employees). I'm repeating myself at this point, but the soundtrack for this series is amazing. I think I've watched that flag scene 10 times by now and that cheesy disco theme made me feel like giggling every. single. time. Awkward is an adorable look on Sean;) I was so curious about where they're gonna take the Dan Yok story, but I certainly didn't anticipate this angle… I need to work on my limited imagination. Yok is so confident. He's what I wish I could be with people that I like. I'll just live dangerously through him;))
Wait how is she a mood? I watched up to episode 12, and she is not a mood lol
I like him too. Big part of what I like about this series is that the characters feel a lot like someone I might have met. Even the main duo. I was really frustrated with their bumbling efforts at first. But by now, they feel believable as young people who let their emotions get the better of them at times:)
Wait how is she a mood? I watched up to episode 12, and she is not a mood lol
Lol that was mostly irony. But she did make me sentimental. When I lived in China I had a neighbor who also had a shop downstairs who'd 'care about' her son in the same loud and public way ...often:D I lived alone so she'd do the same to me. She'd never let me forget my acne problems, often commenting in the shop how it's gotten worse and what should I try next:)) she cared but she was also a terror, and Lu Di's mom gave me the same feels.
Ups, I forgot there are links on this site. I was searching directly in yt and thought maybe I missed a chinese playlist. Good thing ep12 ended on a high note, so I don't feel desperate;)
Lu Di's mom is such a mood! I'd watch a spin-off about her .. with earplugs;) Btw are unsubbed eps 13-15 available online for free? I couldn't find them.
I find it hilarious that you'd mock people for their word choices when they're trying to communicate in a clear…
So, being gay, in your opinion, precludes you from acting like a bigot?! Did I get that one right? Ok, then please supply me with a better word to decribe someone who unreasonably clings to their own beliefs and shows extreme intolerance for people who disagree with them, pelting them with derisive remarks and insults left and right?:D Also, you'd notice (if you cared) that I did not say you ARE a bigot, just that you SOUND like one in your comments. Your complete disregard for context astounds me. This is a global film forum, why wouldn't people use such a common phrase from film/culture studies like queer narrative here? Especially, since it can't be easily substituted and certainly not with "gay-themed story". I'm pretty sure you know how those two phrases differ, you just like to get a rise out of people... Next, you're gonna be claiming that someone on MDL used an N-word equivalent slur towards you because you're gay... But, of course, you haven't said that:D
Terrible. Just awful. It is so embarrassing when a BL, on a BL budget, tries to be an action/thriller or SyFy/horror…
I find it hilarious that you'd mock people for their word choices when they're trying to communicate in a clear and precise way (queer narrative) - but your own comments are so sarcasm-heavy and full of ambiguous statements that they've been, according to you, repeatedly 'misunderstood' here. Maybe instead of calling people dense, you double-check what you've written first:D To me, you come off as very bigoted in your comments. But I assume I'm misinterpreting your words too lol. I agree with what others already said about the show. 'Not me' is not a mission Impossible wannabe. It's a pretty straightforward Young Adult show with social commentary, that obviously has found its audience among the bl watching crowd.
Wow, that's quite a rant:D How do you know that Yok Dan is a clichéd 'love at first sight' scenario? Do you have…
Oh, I loved the crocodoc! From the series perspective, it was so much more fun than let's say watching a group of 'geeks' running complex formulas in Excel to decide on their next mission:D I also agree with the general direction of the plot. It's good that they failed and I hope they'll become suspects. My problem with the plan was that I can't see it harming Tawi in any way, even if it succeeded. That'd be just a small hiccup easily solved by PR. When Sean said that he wanted to destroy Tawi's businesses, it sounded like he's gonna start buying up explosives on darknet, so when he came up with that powder....;) I do quite like how unpredictable this show is turning out to be.

You mean other than letting crocodoc decide which causes are worth risking their hides?:D For me, this episode plays like a one long chain of really dumb decisions. Starting with that whole scheme being basically pointless (a lot of risk for the boys and zero real impact to Tawi) and ending with their blase attitude about leaving behind evidence tying them to the crime scene (even though there's a witness!) There are a lot more examples mentioned all over this thread:)
Wow, that's quite a rant:D How do you know that Yok Dan is a clichéd 'love at first sight' scenario? Do you have…
Nah, it's attraction with some fanciful words at best;) Haven't you ever asked your friends to stalk your random crushes at school?:D Not sure that punch says instant reciprocation either (though probably yes because... BL;) OK,I get what type of comments you meant now... Still think the show could do with more story arcs going on at the same time, instead of focusing so heavily on gang/Tawi
I swear bl fans are such hypocrites. Everytime a fluffy bl gets big they complain and complain that we need 'better…
Wow, that's quite a rant:D How do you know that Yok Dan is a clichéd 'love at first sight' scenario? Do you have inside knowledge? Cause so far they got like 3 minutes screentime and 15 spoken words total. Meanwhile, the young vigilantes and their grudge got two full episodes filled with all flavour of stupid. Can you really blame people that they'd rather go with some good old romance?;) To me, connecting with someone while pumped with adrenaline from doing illegal shit, and then that someone turning out to be a cop, is quite a juicy setup. I see a potential for a not-so-clichéd storyline there, so it's disappointing it didn't get any development.
Is Sean insane? Is that the twist? Is this dark romance?:D Cause it takes a special mind to come up with a plan where the outcome isn't worth even 5% of the risk. Even if that batch would somehow slip through the final quality control. It would just be recalled after the first couple customer complaints. Things like that happen often enough and usually don't seriously impact the brand. Keying Tawi's car would probably have more personal impact... Then, what sane person would give the most important job to the weakest, most unstable link in the chain? He really should blame himself for that one. And what's that psycho ending that came out of nowhere? Oh, there was also that line about not needing gloves! Though I'm not sure if that's insane or just really dumb:D
Seriously though, I can't help but agree that the plot has gotten off the rails in the last 2 eps. There are so many interesting directions they could've taken this story. I was hoping to see what the parents are up to, Dan's work as a cop, or more W at the ministry forced to confront his beliefs with the corrupt reality. Why have the writers decided to put the characters in these increasingly logic-defying volatile situations instead?
I am LMAO at the red bull comparison, but whatever PPL happening in this series , believe me it's not as bad/much…
Lol haven't watched that one. Heard it's fluffy? , I don't really mind it as long as they're not breaking out into full conversations about the benefits of drinking whatever it is;)
