I'm on the edge of my seat with the cliffhanger of the ex dad returning, and then totally confused at the normal college drama of a girl entering the picture and plans to go to collegeš Sometimes this show feels like a weird mix of tropes. I'm assuming Big Bro takes care of the step dad fairly easily and I will look forward to that.
I'm not sure how Nao doesn't realize Suea likes him, he is so easy to read, and he is normally perceptive when it comes to Suea. He does have Suea wrapped around his little finger.
I think I enjoyed the two brothers in the horribly pink cafe making peace𤣠I'm totally enjoying Singha's brother complex and him trying to keep it under wraps.
āI love how it escaped the stereotypes, trends, and the usual look of modern media with all the heavy makeup. I love that the characters actually look sun-kissed and healthy, rather than washed out and pale.
The cinematography, locations, scenery, and costumes were amazing. Everything felt so familiar, warm, comfortable, and enjoyable.
āThe cast did a great job, and the boys... I have no words. They felt so drawn to each other all the time, yet delivered two of the most memorable NC scenes I've ever seen in a BL.
āCheers to Wishing Upon a Shooting Star, I am really going to miss them.
OH come on, this problem is barely a problem. Futami isn't THAT bad, and they really shouldn't be letting him rile them up so much. It's silly that they're letting mushroom head get in between their relationship. Time to disconnect work from being boyfriends.
Ryo though... VER-AN-DA! Made me laugh out loud š
But did August aced his restest or not??? Gah!!! Why did he look so precious sulking over a secret admirer that didn't answer his notes???
Ko Neung is so gone... Not that Ko Song isn't! That one was gone way before but I love how Ko Neung came to terms with his feelings even before Ko Song disappeared on them.
AugarAshi are also progressing, KenPaul have a special place in my heart and they just look so lovely making plans for the future in a wholesome way.
Well that's it, it's finished. As a final episode it was...well, it ended. I like that EmiBonnie got their moment but at the same time it felt very fan service-y.
As a series overall, I think I enjoyed it for the most part but I do think that it didn't live up to its potential. I mean, this should've been the GL to end all GL's but it turned out just good. I'll put it this way, for the vast majority of the GL's this year I've actively looked forward to each episode but with this I was like "oh yeah, Girl Rules is on today". It could've been so much better but i'd be lying if I said I won't miss these characters.
I loved the flirty Rann and P'lee and everyone's reaction to her boldness š
One thought crossed my mind. If all the "enemies" we thought attacked P'Le and killed her, turned out to be her allies all along, maybe she wasn't killed after all? And the whole thing was just a set up to fool her father into thinking she is dead, which fooled Rann also?
Anyways, we the only ones who knows Rann pov, not P'le, and the fact that she love Rann but not fully trust her yet (Rann hiding things too isn't helping her case), can only be redeemed by her finding out the whole truth, and that girl jumped in time to save her as a last dying wish. If there is another chance, maybe that's so that she do things differently this time around.
This show is exactly what I want in a fluffy romantic comedy from any continent. The chemistry is chemistry-ing, the crop tops are cropping, and I donāt have to think about anything too hard at all. Two weirdo sweethearts found each other, and now theyāre just going to have a nice life together without any huge trauma⦠sign me up. There are always complaints when a show doesnāt give us enough of their soft married era⦠Tutor and Yim were like; āHold my amuletsā¦.ā and went ahead and did a show where they basically do married era from episode 1 on.
Thinking about Niran telling Fei āEven heaven canāt stop two people from falling in loveā and how the same could be said about Niran binding his soul to Peteās. The juxtaposition between Pete bound by shackles during rituals/the golden thread looped around his wrist connecting him to Niran. One weighs him down, representing forces larger than life, whereas the other holds the demon at bay, allowing him to stay human. Not as a husk of a person but someone with agency, with awareness. So⦠Niran first offered him a lifeline by touching his forehead to ease his burden, then Pete returned the gesture, and now itās a two-way street where they share the same fate for better or for worse, out of their own volition. Pete was so real for crashing out, seeing Niranās face everywhere, and proceeding to ask Niran himself what they are š
Fei saying sheās known Niran her whole life and heās not the type of person to do things like this? Peteās ānot just anyoneā? That whole car sequence? Niran putting his amulet on Pete and reassuring him with his whole chest? And none of this feels out of place in the grand scheme of things, weāre getting action packed episodes each week šš¼
The fog which signaled Qi Rongās presence was utilized so well to further toy with our perception of reality. By making us constantly question whatās real and whatās not, we notice details like āPeteā not wearing Niranās necklace when he approached his friends, and the subtle difference in demeanor right before his eyes changed. Really appreciate how so far each of the exorcisms has brought something new in terms of special effects/visuals and reinforces the sense of unpredictability within the world of Wu. Skynani OST is a banger!!!
Itās so grounded, I relate to both of the guys in different ways sooo much. When the director asked about the BL novel I felt strongly for both of their responses, both how itās meaningful and also waving her away, feeling uncomfortable with it even though itās his book.
Iām obsessed with how each of their misery/discomfort is so palatable. Itās so obvious that they care about each other and about things like their little fish and just show it in different ways. I love seeing a couple who know each other so well and also seeing how comfortable they are being imperfect/flawed around each other, and also how obvious they express their pain to each other. You donāt always get that in BL where a lot of the time theyāre just meeting and donāt know anything about each other/have the rose colored glasses on. This feels so real. Iām like Iāve been that guy. Iāve been in a relationship with that guy. I adore both of them already so much
It is that we called a LAT relation. Living apart together.
It is such a totally different show from what I am used. Normally we would get 2 male leads that come together after trial and error. But they are together from almost the beginning of the show. But also not.
Azuma. The things he says. I can understand it so much. About afraid of loosing not only people but also kther things when you grow older.
Kuji. He still can't say to Azuma that he likes him. But his actions speaks louder.
I liked this despite hating the "you look better without your glasses" trope. Actually most people look better with glasses!
To be honest, I kind of wonder why the optometrist is waiting to ask Gyuho out when he's already coming on so strong. He doesn't seem like the type to wait around like that.
I'm sure he's misunderstanding that convo but it does sound suspect from this end.
The first episode made me so angry for Jun Hyeon. I hope he gets to play soccer again at the end. He had such a tragic time so far.
The second was a blast to watch as the chairman got to experience mistreatment he forced on Jun Hyeon. It was funny watching his interactions at the office. Iām glad they made the chairman cold and high and mighty. I look forward to more character development as he grows from working as an intern.
I like how the youngest daughter knows the main character knows her true identity.
Iām looking forward to watching them work together while she thinks he is a young guy. My favorite scene was the manager telling how much the team and company uses her for every task and the main character commenting on how they treat her like a slave.
This is a good social commentary on how badly low level employees can be treated and how corruption can run rampant if things are kept hidden.
Looking forward to the next episodes. I definitely get the fun comedy, family oriented and revenge again corruption vibes. (My favorite type of shows).
This show! Even when heartfelt and emotional, itās still a little ridiculous. I did not think I was getting Park Ji Hoon in a wig and halmeoni fits. š

Now can Tle stick to the plan already???

1/5 ā R.I.P. Galu š± Youāll be missed.

--Ritt - you can't be blackmailed if you just tell the truth
--Pure - HOW is it that you haven't told your BFF Ritt that you hooked up with Pitcha? He'd be a lot less stressed if he knew Pitcha has moved on.
--At least the preview seems to show that Itt is, in fact, NOT an idiot. But now Ritt is mad at him for also lying? Love it.

THIS. THIS is the energy i need in the year 2026!
the first episode is solid and so much fun! i enjoy shows set in a small, not-so-sleepy village where everyone is up in everyone else's business.
