OMG! That's literally what I was thinking too... they're sooo adorable wtf :'))
Personally, I think complaining about the cast is like the most pointless thing ever. The cast is fixed and no amounts of complaints can change that, How's it hard to just give them a chance? :/ Before these dramas got released, at first I could never see Zhang Zhehan & Gong Jun as Wenzhou and Xiao Zhan & Wang yibo as Wangxian, yet I think we all can agree that nobody else could play their characters better than they did. I'm sure the main cast here won't disappoint with performances either.

Omg yesss I remember that! He was jumping around like such an excited bunny, I can just tell how much he loves his role. Can't wait to see how he'll portray Xie Lian.
Y'all are literally so dramatic in these comments. Like can y'all chill out? You guys stay judging.
This 'judging' was the reason they found out that the fans were unhappy with the costumes and it was necessary for them to be altered. Constructive criticism doesn't equal hate and dramas are not a charity event that we need to accept everything as it is. If someone is making blatant hate-speech against the actors or the team, they should be called out and stopped but I haven't seen anyone do that in this comment section lately, so who's overreacting? The users who are respectfully expressing their opinions, or you who can't respect that not everyone might share your views?
Yeah I would very much prefer to wait a lil longer than having to see this adaption with inaccuracies everywhere due to their limited budget. Hope it'll either get post-poned or they'll work something out to make it as close to the novel as possible.
Their costumes and budget crisis aside, I can't be the only one who think that the leads have a great chemistry, right? I just saw a few bts and they legit act like childhood friends, it's quite adorable! ˃ ᵕ ˂
At this point, history books in the future are probably going to be like: 'The Great Hyx Drought' /ᴛʜ:ᴇ ɢʀᴇᴀᴛ ʜʏx ᴅʀoᴜɢʜᴛ/ ● noun | formal 1. Ikr! I was kind of expecting it to exceed even Immortality and winner is king because Tgcf has more hype than both of their original novels, but it was hard to believe the costumes they made hualian wear were supposed to be their OFFICIAL costumes... I didn't defend both main actors and told everyone to give them a chance just for the costume department to pull this shit and make them look unsuitable for their roles. 😶
After reading about this drama's budget crisis, I wouldn't be surprised even if Hua Cheng's dazzling and enchantingly beautiful 'Paradise Manor' ended up looking something like this, but with red LED lights: https://i.postimg.cc/s2gjdZnd/IMG-20210730-180203.jpg
It's a relief how seeing us collectively hate on hualian's costumes finally made them realise that they can literally buy better knock-offs at taobao & now they're going to change them. Otherwise, scientists could solve the energy crisis of the whole world by converting my disappointment into fuel, and I wouldn't hesitate in using Ruoye myself for it's actual purpose.
70% of this season was basically just the writers milking the leads' chemistry (which is one of the best I've ever seen in the cdrama world but STILL), 10% of flashbacks from the first season and 20% of childish misunderstandings between the leads just for the sake of forced 'romantic' bickering. The main antagonist - the Queen, didn't even had a valid motive for going full Taxian Jun-mode on everyone's ass. They definitely could've done better if only they had tried to move the story forward instead of in circles :/
It really bothered me how they dumbed-down Xiao Tan in this season, she has never been super smart or anything to begin with, but at least she was reasonable and used to have common sense.
Meanwhile, in this season she—who's literally from the future—forgot what gender equality even means when she made EVERYONE in her manor switch their jobs just because women being guards and men doing house chores was 'too weird' for her to handle. The ml had to explain to her that a meaningful reform should be appointing people based on their merit rather than their gender, which is true gender equality, but it was really occ of him since he used to have slightly sexist beliefs and was nagging at her about how men are supposed the handle serious affairs and women should take care of kids in the beginning of this season, I could've taken it as a character development if they had shown him changing rather than gaining such 'profound knowledge about gender equality' out of nowhere just to educate the ~oH sO nAiVe~ fl again. In my opinion, it actually should've been Xiao Tan to educate him on gender equality and him finally trying to understand women's struggles (in his original world, not this one) for it to make sense.
In previous two seasons, Xiao Tan was pretty easy-going yet ambitious and unashamed of her 'shallow' desire to be rich (as she should) but in this one all she cares about is Cheng Cheng so I can't help wondering, did the writers have something against the fl in this season? Or they're just biased towards the ml? :/

I'm not even from the ef team but this remark on their budget hurts XD
