In spite of all the family shenanigans, and the whinging princesses, I cannot stop thinking about this series-because of Wu Lei. This is the first time-for me-that Zhao Lu Si's co-star has overhershadowed her acting. I love her!
Wu Lei is an amazing actor. I thought he was great in Nirvana in Fire, Fight Break Sphere, Guardians of the Ancient Oath; found myself saying this young ass boy in Guardians of the Ancient Oath and the Long Ballad; fast forward to today, and this series, and I am telling myself I am going to jail-this sexy young ass boy! He knows how to use silence and time to make his presence felt, and his eyes-wow!
I'm on episode 11, and hardly any scenes with ML and FL together. :(
I love fluffy romance, I enjoy character development, but the squabbling, and jealous mother angst is too much for 18 episodes. Moreover, a series should be well done, whether or not one read the book.

If you are watching for Leo Wu as I was then stop watching, he is barely in any of the scenes. If you are a Zhao Lu Si fan, and enjoy family dramas, then keep watching. I am disappointed-the first 18 episodes could have been condensed into 6. I am not interested in the family squabbles, it is not engaging or interesting. The dynamic between the siblings, Lady Wan, and the limited appearances of Leo Wu keep me watching. Leo Wu is beautiful in this series, he gives meaning to the words eye candy-that is what he is in the first part of the series. This series is dragging, and they have us hooked because Leo Wu is riveting. I will watch anything with Zhao Lu Si, because she makes her male leads better, but in this series, it is not necessary.
First time Zhao Lu Si does not have to carry her male co-star. Leo Wu is captivating; he has mastered using his eyes to convey emotion! Leo Wu is an amazing actor.
