I agree with @Euphoria above regarding this drama. The story itself is interesting, it holds even without Cheng Yi on screen. Of course he will steal the scene every time he appears. But, you will not find his absence disturb your enjoyment watching the drama.

The problem is, they already had an agreement before marriage which they both AGREED on. Not everyone wish to have a child. It is a choice. The man already relented once to let the wife has a child without them had to divorce. But then, the possibility of having disable child just hit him hard. He didn't want the child even when he was healthy, even more so when he was disabled.

Some people will say the man is selfish. But in this case, I don't think we cannot truly fault the man since he was against having a child from the very beginning. The woman was in emotional state due to pregnancy, but that should not absolve her wrong in hitting her husband.

Even before the disabled-abortion debacle, I have been annoyed with the woman. Like, hello madam, you were the one agreed to not have a child with this man. It was not matter whether it was legal binding or not, or whether the agreement was humane or not. It was an agreement between husband and wife. The very fact that she could broke an agreement with her husband without any remorse and even force her husband to respect her choice gave me bad taste. In the future, could her husband ever trust her words again?

Yes, he is indeed has the capability to be proud and be a smartass, hahahahaha. I am currently in episode 19. I love every moment he mediates cases.

Honestly, Zhou Yi An personal story is the only one that I like up until now. The others like Fang Yuan and Song Yu Fei personal story are rather boring for me. Fang Yuan problem with his wife and daughter due to his busy work makes me tired watching it (just not my taste). Song Yu Fei romance with Xu Tian is also tiresome. I don't like Song Yu Fei character to begin with. And dunno why her romance just give me bad taste.

Meanwhile Zhou Yian interaction with his mother is somewhat refreshing for me. No drama, just mother and son that care for each other. His budding relationship with Ye Xin also cute and so natural. You can see that they are getting more and more attracted to each other.

Finally truly start on this. This is very addicting. Even without Cheng Yi on screen, the case itself is very interesting. The actors/actresses all act so well. Very enjoyable.

Zhou Yi An characterization is interesting. I have never Cheng Yi acts this arrogant before, hahahahaha. There is this aura that oozes from Zhou Yi An that screams confidence and power when he first become a judge. Different from the aura of Ying Yuan confidence and power though. The flavor just different.

I read some rumor in Chinese forum that this drama will air this year. The rumor is based on what Cheng Yi and other actor (dunno who) interview that somehow implied the airing timing of this drama.

I hope this drama truly airs this year. I just finished Stand by Me yesterday. I shall treat this drama as their "next life" to sooth my heartache .....

Finally get enough time and motivation to finish this. The drama started strong, but it indeed got boring in the middle especially if you watched it real time, which was the reason I gave myself away for a time. However, now that I have finished it, I can say this is a good drama. The storyline, politic stratagem, and the romance between ML and FL are very well handled.

I will say more in my review, but in this comment section, I want to say that you should try watching this drama. Romance is not the focus in this drama but I love the love story in this drama very much. This drama reminds me that the most important thing in romance relationship is the unwavering trust toward each other. Lots of drama out there showed a couple quarrel which the audiences often coined as the lack of communication. But, this drama somehow shows you that when two people truly love each other, even without saying anything, you understand the other heart and mind. Communication is important indeed, but when your heart already filled with suspicion, communication will become an interrogation instead of an attempt to understand.

It is Yan Dan own words, during Tang Zhou time, that she does not want to be the one abandoned over three realms.

In the later stage of drama, when Ying Yuan became the heavenly emperor and in position to change the rule, Yan Dan was still cold toward him. It showed that the problem here was not rule, but Ying Yuan responsibility. I understand woman wants to be properly chosen. But in this case, woman should never pit herself against common people for her lover to choose. Because this kind of multiple choice should never arise in the beginning. The fact that Yan Dan can think about this, lower her character value for me.

Also, Yan Dan never stated that she wished for Ying Yuan to be free and live for his own for Ying Yuan own benefit. It was always tainted with her own desire. And in the later stage of drama, it was clear that she pushed Ying Yuan to do his job as emperor well.

At this point, I certainly doubting which Ying Yuan that she truly loves. Is it the Ying Yuan in her dream, the one that let go of everything to be with her or the real Ying Yuan that has three realms weighing on his mind always?!

With Ying Yuan identity, asking him to break the rules, is tantamount. Yan Dan asking him of this, only means to me that she never think from Ying Yuan point of view. Moreover, Yan Dan suffering in the heavenly realms actually can be rooted to her sister. It is not fair of her to punish Ying Yuan but forgive her sister so readily.

I can accept Yan Dan choice in the heavenly realm since she is just a little girl at that point of time. Some selfishness is understandable, since it is said to be set up for character growth later on. But, even until the end, it is still about debt and repayment. Three realms or me. I am tired.

Yeah!! She said it: you protect the three realms and I will protect you. I love this sentence so much. But in reality, she could never live up to this words of hers. Because in Yan Dan characterization in later stage, she always "three realms or me". Sigh .....

I never see she truly desired to be stronger and better in order to benefit others. This drama can be epic, alas ....

The problem is why Yan Dan always take that Ying Yuan needs to abandon everything to be with her? Why she needs to pull down the god from the altar? To begin with, three realms and Yan Dan should never be in an opposition. What will Ying Yuan do after he abandon his responsibility? Become her assistant and househusband?

I agree with you, if duty ever calls, Ying Yuan will answer. But whether Yan Dan will approve, it is another matter altogether. Her attitude that always put herself and three realms in opposition truly annoy me.

I agree with you about the episode 59. I am too, prefer that episode to be the real ending, compared with the extras. Not everything needs to be HE. And HE does not mean good.

Ying Yuan was born out from two heavy-weight parents. Mother is a primordial lord (clearly the strongest entity in the heavenly realm at that point of time) while the father is shura lord (practically the strongest being in the six realms at that time). With that kind of background, there is some responsibility that will forever bind Ying Yuan as long as he lives. It is just inevitable. With great power, come great responsibility.

My problem with this romance is that Yan Dan is never the one to compromise. Yes, yes I know she sacrifice a lot, suffer a lot. But love is never about debt and repayment. I cannot understand why it never crosses Yan Dan mind to accompany Ying Yuan bear his responsibility? Why it is always a choice between her or Ying Yuan responsibility?

Some people will ask why cannot Ying Yuan compromise and it is always woman that needs to compromise? I think this is not a matter of gender. Ying Yuan identity is special and his existence is tied with the peace of three realms. With this kind of lover, of course the other party will need to be the one who compromise, not the other way around.

I am not saying mortal arc is not important. But it is take too much time since there are so many story for side characters there. If we got more than 57 episodes, then sure go ahead. I hate rushed ending ....

After so many "filler episodes", ep 44-46 finally return to the real problem. Sigh .... It is not like I don't like seeing Yan Dan and Tang Zhou reconcile, but we only get so many episode in this part 2. I want to see their love truly bloom in heavenly realm instead, compared with prolonged mortal realm.

On the other hand, those ep 44-46 is again remind me why I am so fixated to Cheng Yi acting. How can he make such natural body movement in every weakened and abusive scene? It get to the point that I can no longer enjoy other actor performance in these kind of scenes .....
