sooo, I don't get it. I'm not trying to hate, I just really want to know what's the appeal? I paused this because I got busy and lost track of it, then I tried to repick it up, but nothing exciting, interesting, thrilling, shocking or emotional happened...
I love both of the main leads, I do find them interesting, and I love their acting, so my question is purely about the plot...
Now I do mind spoilers, but I still want to understand what I'm missing...
For me this reminds me of Whisper, though that was more about revenge, I just wasn't too sucked in by the plot... still I really love lee bo young, so I might go back and continue it later...
Scenes in EP14 that almost made me weep: - when Sang Mi's mom was crying during Sang Mi's prayer service…
I'll just add a couple more to your list:
- when Dong Cheol met Sang Mi's mom, he was so sweet and gentle.
- when So Rin was being tortured.
- when Jung Hoon was saved (I really thought they'll kill him)
- when Dong Cheol tried so hard to save So Rin (here I thought they'll both be caught)
- when the bad guys caught her again.
They are so cute, so supportive, so understanding, so imperfect. they match soo well! their romance is so different then the usual puppy love, or the push & pull, it's grown up love(?) I don't know how to describe it ;p
Not feeling this... I mean what was the point of her talking to the plant, she wasn't even drunk. are they going to pretend she so innocent and pure, when she said she was 25(?)...
but Yang Se Jong is cute! and noona romance so I'll give it another chance...

this shows more character growth, and it's a great example of why some dramas need a 2nd season.
usually kdramas just focus on the introduction of the characters, so it's hard to get in-depth character development in only 16eps. or they get 20eps and they don't know what to do. but here we get short and to the point seasons, which is a better format...
for me I just don't like the character of Eun Jae, for both seasons, and it's not about the actresses...

I watched that movie, but I didn't like the ending, so I kinda don't really remember it that well ;p but I think her character overall was more poised(?), mature, idk but it fit her more...
I just didn't want it to seem that I was saying something personal about an actor ^^;
and I kinda compared her situation to Save Me' Sang Mi, where she is "the new Seoul girl that has everyone swoon over" as well, but I felt that Save Me handled it more realistically...

and for me I think her character just doesn't pass on as a highschooler. she feels more like a freshly graduated out of college which isn't bad if she's paired of with Jong Hyun.
