The whole setup is such a 2010s plot 😴
Like my mom is watching with me and she’s unfamiliar with kdramas so she thinks “this guy is getting more screen time” so it must be him especially with the memory loss he has😂
But to me it’s a way to drag out the plot cuz as my mom says “why won’t he confess to her” and it’s just a drag of time for conflict in a simple flat drama
And that’s what annoys me about this, real people don’t change as much as child actors vs adult actors do
I literally saw a highscool friend in the mall a while ago, haven’t seen her for yeeeaaars, ie teen vs adult, but she looked the exact same, and I’m the type of person that needs to be reminded of college classmates
But my brain instantly recognized that highschool friend🤷🏻♀️
I do love the growth of both characters but to be honest we had way too many “oh no I must lie to protect him/her” it became a circle with no plot development
I’m always game for a female centered plot🫶🏻 it’s also nice to have mls that aren’t as flat as a board and diverse women that are independent 👍🏻
I made it a voting list to make it easier for ppl to add too🤣🫶🏻
I’m shocked and sad these two aren’t tags one can easily search for
Like, how sad was it that she had no friends, her dad’s friends never asked about her, those mountain idiots not only didn’t wonder where she went, they didn’t care she didn’t return with them
And the dad not telling the ex, I get it but dude she wouldn’t remember saying she didn’t want them to know and of course her family would care about her, I wish they had more daughter/mom moments cuz that could’ve been as heartbreaking as the dad/daughter
And this was going well until the third part where it just didn’t make sense anymore
There were many things they could’ve done better and it left a “unfinished” taste
The bad guys already know and want her and they literally killed in the police station to protect themselves
Which is another thing that was “swept under the rug”
Hyeeun also needs the fact that she was abused as a kid for her case, which they also didn’t mention what happened to her
Tho dr killing his wife was the narrative from the start even from the security guy so I’d think they didn’t mention it cuz it’s not a new fact
But many things were brushed past
Basically dr mo’s kid and “normos” won’t benefit from it?
Tbh not saying how many years ahjussi got, and technically isn’t hyeeun’s murder, self defense?
Also basically the worst part of the experiments is hyeeun, robbed of childhood and love then abandoned
Dr mo’s kid honestly just needs a caring mom
And what about the “X” people and lang hanuel, that was a really nice twist
It left too many unanswered questions
And I’m a bit sad ahjussi didn’t have any impact at the end, tho I understood the need of young hyeeun, old hyeeun also deserved to be highlighted
She got stuck in that trauma so she basically never “grew up” but she did also have major issues
And was rohee’s dad a successful experiment or was he just smart and driven by money and his dads career path
The ending was a bit underwhelming for me, loose ends, fast resolutions and not enough ahjussi
