Many here have read the novel. For me, for example, the main character in the novel version is absolutely disgusting. A sort of a caricature of a hero. I wanted to kill him with my own hands while I was reading. But in the dramatic version, he became much lighter and funnier.
I accepted Dylan's version of Xu Qi An. I don't like him, but I don't feel disgusted by him either.

To be honest, I definitely don't like the main character of the novel at all. He reminds me of a special breed of rooster, for cockfighting. This rooster is used to fight with anyone, and spent his free time collecting and serving a harem of chickens.
I like Shen Shu and his charming daughter much more.
Especially like the Celestial Fox's visit to Xu Qi An's chicken coop. My favorite moment. 😀
Therefore, the last part of the Epilogue is very illogical for me. Fox should have lost the rest of hope for the revival of her clan and accepted the future dominance of the Human race. I don't see any other reason why she could not only accept Xu Qi An, but also have offspring with him. Completely sad story.
I really hope that this moment will be corrected in the drama. 😭

There are too many questions after the end of the S1. Yes, ML is exactly like that: he is outwardly careless, but in fact he is very attentive to any little things that can lead him to his goal. That's great. Most of c-dramas aren't worth watching. Long, expensive, and uninteresting. Like cheap chewing gum: you can chew it for a long time, but it won't taste any better. The plots of these dramas are artificially stretched out, adding a lot of ridiculous scenes and weird dialogue. If the material is really good, just make several seasons!

I have no idea, what did the screenwriter have in mind, when decided to add that characters. The novel is not obligatory equal the script of drama. Possible, they changed the original plot.
