I was also confused about this, but I think DFQC didn’t know/approve of the sacrifice, and thought the XF would…
You’re right. I went back to rewatch that scene and XF said to DFQC that he’s incompetent and can’t release the 100,000 soldiers. This is in reference to the bracelet and not the the use of the Chengying sword.
Anyway, I still think the battle scene could have been better.
Let me start by saying I’m a die hard, obsessed LBFAD fan so please, no hate as I express my first impressions after watching episode 31/32. Perhaps I was expecting some kind of epic battle but I was left underwhelmed. Maybe the anticipation of waiting 5 days had me expecting more but I felt there was not enough action in the battle scene. I was left wanting more. Also, I thought DFQC pushed Orchid away in order for her to fall out of love with him so the bone orchid bracelet can be safely removed. However, it seemed he was aware of Xunfeng’s plan to have Orchid willingly sacrifice herself using the Chengying sword and he was okay with it. In my opinion, it seemed a little out of character for him. I suppose he really did decide to sacrifice her if that is the case. Anyway…maybe you guys have some more insight…I’m still processing these two episodes. Maybe I’ll go back and rewatch it. Perhaps I missed some key details.
Watching again while waiting. So why does he always feel when she’s in pain but she doesnt feel the samw about…
She was the one who unknowingly casted the heart curse on him so he feels what she feels. It curse doesn’t work both ways. She doesn’t share his feelings.
Ive been rewatching all the episodes and it really hammers down the fact that this is one of the most beautiful…
Such a beautiful story where both the male and female leads make sacrifices for each other and fight for their love. Unlike some dramas where it’s usually the ML who is self sacrificing. I like how Orchid is head strong and follows her heart and doesn’t blindly accept what others tell her is her “destiny ” and “responsibility”.
For DFQC’s character the dubbing worked out for the better. I don’t think Dylan’s natural voice would have…
Really? I think there’s a big contrast in their voices. His natural voice is definitely a higher pitch than the dubbers. At least that’s what I hear from watching several bts clips.
DFCQ and his clothes. He looks so majestic in them. The designers are on point. Especially those black with gold…
I love all the costumes. They did an excellent job. The fairy immortal realm, the clothing is lighter weight and lighter in color. The moon tribe, I love how it’s a heavier material and darker in color. The moon tribe women, I notice a medieval influence for the clothing and hair pieces that Orchid wears too. I do like how they used lighter colors because she’s a fairy.
Yes it appears that way but I don’t see how that bit of information is significant to the overall story. Looking forward to how the writers will work that information in.

Anywho, she needs to come back quick to help save her disciple.
It’s a genuine dilemma. Save his tribe and sacrifice his love or save his love instead. 😭
