Was this really a BL? When one of a pair actually, literally views being kissed by his boyfriend, or fiance, or…
So glad I dropped this when I did. Came back to see if maybe it was worth picking back up only to find it got much much worse. OMG your review though! 555555555555
What are the changes? Like what? I haven't read the novel so...
I haven't actually read the novel either. What I was referring to was the original pilot that was released. From what Gabssxo said below it seems like it was closer to the novel than the series is now. Kinn was a lot more brutish.
For example in the original pilot when Kinn is looking for Porsche he destroys the bar where Porsche works and beats up everyone including the bar owner Porsche's boss and gets him fired. In the series Kinn is a much smoother operator. He offers a business partnership to the bar owner while sipping a drink Porsche mixed for him. The bar owner is charmed. The funniest part for me was when Kinn says to a confused Porsche, "Do you think I'm some kind of low life mafia? Porsche was expecting the thug from the original pilot. 555!
In the original pilot it looked like Porsche agreed to join Kinn partially because of Kinn's threats to his family. In the series as it is now he stubbornly refuses to join Kinn even with a gun pointed at his head. He only agrees to join Kinn because of a desperate situation not related to Kinn. In the 1 scene so far where Kinn was particularly brutish to Porsche he was really being cruel to be kind.
Little changes like these make the series (the plot and the characters) a lot more interesting to me.
You do realize that 4 of the 5 top airing shows for Thailand on the MDL main page are BL right? And that's the top 4. For Taiwan the 2nd top airing show is a BL. For Hong Kong the number 1 top airing show is a BL (I highly recommend everyone watch the whole Hehe&He series. It's so good.) and Cherry Blossoms After Winter rounds out the top 5 for South Korea. Soooo how is MDL homophobic?
