Isn't it weird that some say stuff like "oh no I can't watch it since it's the old man's soul"? Actually…
Those vampire examples aren't a fair comparison. In all of those cases the vampire stopped aging upon turning and maintained youthfulness even as centuries passed. And on top of that their souls were damned to stay in their own bodies not possess someone else's. Also even with centuries of lived experience the vampires tend to display a level of maturity in line with their apparent age. And let's not forget the fact of the familial relationship between the 'old soul' and the young body he's possessing.
It's sad when commenters say things like the grandson was an asshole anyway. As if that makes what grandpa did okay. It's not cool even if he's the biggest asshole on the planet. People here say things like " yeah well, he's a player" as if that equates to murder or sexual assault.
It's the fact that the grandpa is billed as the hero of the story and we're supposed to be sympathetic to him. Sorry I'd still be more sympathetic to the young asshole who got his body swapped by his grandfather who basically killed. For me it's not about the age difference. It's the circumstances.
