my favorite neo hou drama will always be dashing youth, maybe because it was my first drama of his that i watched.
I love that one too! As for me FoF will prob always be my top one. It wasn't my first HMH drama but it's just a really special drama for me and I was absolutely in love with it when it aired that rarely any other drama has given me!
I'm genuinely sad this and TUS are airing at the same time like I would've loved to watch both while airing but I can't watch two Neo Hou dramas back to back. I'd rather focus on one if an actor is a MC in two dramas. What a terrible move they did here... Anyways, I started TUS and am already loving it so... I'm def gonna watch this when I finish it for sure tho!

Well, I didn't say it was. Ofc it's not. The dramas aren't connected at all obv. I was just intrigued seeing this since I love that drama a lot. My comment was just meant for fun.
Wang Duo here kind of reminds me of Tian Jiarui in Fangs of Fortune in the way that he has a deep hatred / grudge with demons. They both have their own principles as well as their own duties that they want to fulfill, where they both are part of a bureau or smth where they want to get rid of demons for peace and prosperity (without knowing demons aren't so bad in general). Not to mention he plays his brother in that drama, and Neo Hou is the ML where he plays a great demon in both. Oh, and the fact that his sword can also detect demons (by lighting up / glowing) too. I can't wait to see (as it seems so, it is likely to happen) Bing Zhu's hatred with demons slowly fade as the drama goes on, and sees that demons aren't as bad as he thought they were.
I am forever gonna be sad about Han Ziling and Bai Wan's death which legit occurred one ep after another and too early for my liking but I think of this drama being more realistic in terms of revenge bc of it's not gonna be a HEA where everyone the ML is close to survives during vengeance ofc 😭

Yessss that's one of the things I would've changed! It should've been done throughout the drama. Also I lowkey would've felt it to be even more epic if we got Zuo Ye appearing as Ming Xian throughout too (to show us that no matter which gender the ML will always love the FL lol). Not to mention that Zuo Ye and Neo Hou are close friends!

I enjoyed this drama tho I rated it below a 9. I really loved how the leads grew in their relationship. It was beautiful to me. A rating below a 9, specifically in the 8-8.5 range, doesn't mean it's bad at all. I consider those scores still pretty good. They're for dramas I enjoyed for the most part. The reason I don't rate it a 9 is because of some changes I would've made to the script that would suit to my taste and would've felt more epic to me BUT the story is still amazing in its own way! I'm not sure why you think everyone should rate it a 9 at least. People have their own criteria in rating anyway. As someone who rated it 8.0, I still consider it a great drama :)

Finally got around to watching two eps hehe! Ans after watching three dramas with Chengyi this year since September, I gotta say, third time's the charm. It's so nice to see Chengyi and Tong Mengshi again! In all three dramas they shared a close relation in some way but this one seems to be IT! 🤞
