There's a rumor that this will air soon like omg?? I was literally saying yesterday if one of these costume BL dramas ever get released it will be a miracle... I also read that one of actors Li Junchen was asked about this and it was okay for them~ Hope it ends up being true for it to be broadcasted at least 😭

Frrr like this is how I view it: Li Lun is Yuanzhou's first love and Yichen is his last love. You can't convince me otherwise. And lol for sure! I feel like Wen Xiao was so flirty with Pei Sijing. I feel like she liked her xD And then Pei Sijing has also come to like her too~ She is so protective of her 🥺

As for Yuanzhou and Yichen... Yuanzhou has definitely always liked Yichen since the beginning, and Yichen fell harder. Also are you talking about Ying Long and Bingyi for the last bit? They ain't just best friends but also soulmates and lovers hehe. They parallel so much with Yuanzhou and Yichen that I theorize they are their past lives 🫣 Even if not, the fact that their love transcends even before they were born is sooo telling. They are truly fated!

Anyways, for me, rather than seeing them as partners, I view their bond as more rooted in respect, protection, loyalty, and care. I also did find their bond to be more like in the calmer side? Like she represents warmth and peace. To me, also like an idea of peace that he longs for. When we look at their relationship, in Yuanzhou's long life, she is like a special part of it that helps him grow as he moves toward where he is truly fated. Also, about the swing, even Yichen surprisingly has scenes related to it! I think I'll try to message you about that instead bc there's a lot to say about them.

Now about his relationship with Yichen. I totally agree. Remember the day before the blood moon during a conversation with Wen Xiao? He was happy looking at her then looked sad as he thought about Zhao Wan'er's words: "I know I can't persuade you, but I believe that one day you'll meet the person who makes you want to live." Then it transitioned to Yichen practicing swordfighting to fight against him. But this is a foreshadowing. Bc the day after this, on the day of the blood moon, Yichen is the only one that goes to Yuanzhou~ While he was harsh, Yuanzhou was actually given a reason to live. Then we see Yuanzhou say to Yichen in a future episode, "Having a soulmate makes this life worth it to live," which also connects with Ying Long and Bingyi as well.

I also noticed in that one scene where his inner demon was talking to him and trying to provoke him~ that it was not until he used Yichen's name that the malicious energy took over him. Let's also not forget about how Yichen was the only one whose voice reached Yuanzhou after the loss of his five senses, which also helped Yuanzhou regain himself, even for a bit. So in a way, it goes both ways. While there's a good and bad side to it, I think that's what makes Yichen special to Yuanzhou.

Yes, let's not blame her. She did her best. And I still like her character. I think we shouldn't focus on her being weak but rather look at the other things she's good at. She isn't useless. She maybe isn't fit for the fight scenes, but she fits for other things that help in the story.
And I agree. It really feels like a BL drama. I mean, the director is also known for filming stuff with BL elements, so it makes it easier to believe in it in this drama. And yes, the main story is about Yuanzhou and Yichen, so it's not really easy to not believe this is a BL.
After all, as a person who loves xianxias and of the sort, I never think about really shipping two guys in a drama because I rarely see it in them to be a couple. But in here, it was different. I can't help but ship them and believe in their ship all the way. But I can't deny that Wen Xiao means a lot to Yuanzhou.
But after all, Wen Xiao may be his first love. Or is it Li Lun? And Yichen ends up being his last love in my opinion. It generally means that the person who you love doesn't necessarily mean you'll end up with them for a lifetime, which is very normal. I think in the end it ends with Yuanzhou and Yichen, as we consider not just what they went thru together but also as demons who live a long life, which makes total sense.

If you decide to rewatch in the future, try to think of the drama as a true BL, and then I think you will see so many more scenes of Yuanzhou and Yichen. Think of them as the lovers of the story and you will realize how they really fit as lovers like we see in other xianxias. Like on my first watch, I didn't even notice so many stuff tbh bc of Yuanzhou and Wen Xiao being the main couple, so I didn't think too too deeply, tho I have still seen a good amount of BL elements, just not close to the amount on my rewatch, like it was crazy haha.

And it's also Yuanzhou being jealous of Yichen giving his attention to Wen Xiao lol like it's sooo obvious man!! At first it did look like Yichen really had a crush on Wen Xiao but tbh I didn't even notice this or even thought of this on my first watch but actually how I was wondering if he likes Yuanzhou lmaooo but then I realized maybe he does after the swing scene lmaoo but then after my rewatch, during the swing scene you also notice how Yuanzhou WANTS Yichen's attention? Like man... My BL mind BUT I came into this drama not even knowing there'd be BL elements like?? And I never think of this while watching as many xianxia dramas I watch normally, so it was a surprise the more I watched and seeing even more and stronger BL elements appear. As for Yichen's love for Wen Xiao, I think it wasn't that deep of a love but more like he really cares for her. I think he came to terms in the end, of his realization of how much Yuanzhou means to him.

100%. Like the main story is about them. It's focused on their relationship and their growth in their relationship. We see in the beginning how it started with grudges and then we see a gradual shift in their relationship where they come to love and understand one another deeply, which makes their story so beautiful and touching. And you're right. I watch a lot of xianxia dramas, and Yuanzhou and Yichen's dynamic really fit well with a story of lovers. For example, their fate. They both have such a sad fate together that even ties more to the past of Ying Long and Bingyi. It's almost like as if they are their reincarnations (which I theorize they could possibly be) due to how they connect and align with them so well. And then there's the "I must protect you. I can't watch you die." They always try to protect each other no matter what. It shows how much they mean to each other. And it also fits so perfectly with the enemies to lovers trope. And how Yuanzhou and Yichen are opposites too, so it's like they cover themselves with their cloaks of their weaknesses (which literally happened between them too). We got one who is extroverted and one who is introverted and cold. Pretty common between lovers in a xianxia.

I didn't get it the first time but as I was watching it I was reading discussions about the eps and people be saying how he's looking at his lips and then I got the context later and like omg it was right in our faces like?? Lol and there are so many scenes I came across with these different interpretations that it brings me so much amusement and shock how this passed censorship xD Maybe you saw it too but I wanna share another one for one!

Like lol I lowkey feel bad for Wen Xiao but it's obvious that Yuanzhou's attention is on Yichen haha like it may look like he's jealous of Yichen for caring for Wen Xiao, but then it seems like he wants to provoke a reaction from Yichen lol like the way they bicker when she's in the middle so it lowkey feels like, while he may care for Wen Xiao's illness, it's not what his attention is on (if yk what I mean) xD But then again, yep... it's ambiguous so it's up to us how we view it lol but for me this is def how I view it!

And you're right... It's been getting boring and draggy... Like after the incident in Eastern Country, we've not been getting screentime in Eastern Country and what Ben and Sasin are dealing with over there which is such a bummer...

Tbh, this drama is dragging for me for the last 10 eps or so (I don't remember when it started but it was after everything that happened in Eastern Country) that I've decided to watch at 1.25x at times. We barely got any Benjamin and Sasin scenes, like I wished they could balance it out throughout the episodes. As a military drama, I wanted to see more of that. To see what's also happening in Eastern Country and see what they're doing, how they're helping the people, and how they overcome the obstacles, but we aren't seeing enough of that. It looks like next episode will be interesting tho, so I look forward to it!

He's the character that liked the FL in the beginning and really wanted to be with her but we don't see him later on in the drama where he leaves to go somewhere (don't exactly remember where). I remember seeing him in MM and when I noticed it was him I was totally mesmerized by his beauty!
