Tbh, idek yet! I don't know much about the stories for them since I haven't read their novels yet. But I also won't expect they'll totally follow them but hope at least keep its color. Anyways, from reading the novels' synopsis and reading a little bit about what is in the novels, I think I'll like Heaven Official's Blessing the most. Idk what to expect for the dramas tho, so I'm just looking forward to all with excitement :D I heard Immortality's novel is very angsty tho, so dang, I wonder how they'll do that (how much they will also tone it down) in the drama. But yeee, from the leaks, there is so much of Winner Is King and I'm already loving it thru them (which makes me even more eager to watch the drama lmao).

The Fox Spirit Matchmaker series that I'm looking forward to the most aahhhh so excited!! Chengyi and Li Yitong as a couple is gonna be no joke! Can't wait to see them both here but also Hero Legends where they are amazingly also a couple!!

Btw, when is this one really airing? I know Love in Pavillion should be coming out first, but I wonder when that will air and how much after this one will air. Will surely be 2025 for this one because of that.

This drama wasn't that bad for me when I was watching it while it was airing compared to the ratings. In fact, I still enjoyed it a lot despite the complaints I had with it. The complaints I had about this is they should have made Guoguo the main villain, like he'd be a lot more interesting. Also, we seriously needed more screen time for the other couples rather than just showing them one by one (which seems less realistic tbh lol). I wasn't super into the main romance but it wasn't too bad for me (Gong Jun's character seemed to like Yang Mi's character more than hers tho sadly). Also, you can't really deny that the OST is epic, like it truly is. That's what I'd rate the highest of this drama. Overall, it is true though that they could have done better with this. [Spoiler!!] Like maybe show that love can transcend everything by making all the couples have a happy ending? I feel like 7.1 rating is too low tho and am kinda still shocked how hated it is. I feel like people just had very high expectations for this but then were disappointed with it a lot which caused a lot of low ratings.

True... I'm just gonna pray we get Eternal Faith ones too 😭🙏 I haven't read the books but I hear it's really good, and it's about to be my first danmei to read. Now I'm gonna just hope the adaptation comes out eventually... Anyhow, which one do you look forward to the most?

I remember having a love-hate relationship with TTEOTM bc of the amount of misunderstandings and backstabbing between the leads. While the story was really intriguing I did wish they had a healthier relationship, but ig it's understandable where they're coming from. So I rated it lower than I would've if their relationship developed better. My favorite character is probably Deng Wei's for every life he was in.

Btw, how's Ashes of Love? Have you finished it yet or are you close to?

Oooh this was such a nice read! I remember reading about someone saying Hanguang Jun in Viki while on Netflix it translated to Light Bearing Lord. Didn't know that's what Hanguang Jun actually means (am I understanding this right?). Btw where can I finf the fanmade subs? I'm quite curious now. I don't mind and actually like both Netflix and Viki subs. It'd be nice to watch with subsike what you mentioned.

I'm currently rewatching The Untamed (it's my second watch) and it's interesting to see your intake on this. This drama is actually the first drama I wanted to watch years years back when it was still a fairly new drama, but I only watched it last year lol. And I honestly reaaally loved it so much without the influence of other people's opinions on it and its popularity. It was basically my second historical C-drama as well. Currently on my second watch, and tbh, I don't remember most of the story, but I think I am enjoying it even more now and can understand it better as I've begun to watch more historical C-dramas after that.

As for your review, I think I can understand some / most your points on what you liked about it and what you didn't like about it and why. Even for certain things in a drama, people can have different opinions about them which is so interesting. Like you said, rating a drama subjectively and objectively is important. Since I don't always look into all the details of a production very closely tho, I guess in a way it makes it a bit easier for me to enjoy a drama. Tho these days I definitely try to rate dramas a bit more objectively now tbh. Sometimes tho despite rating it that way, it may not affect my enjoyment of a drama and how I rate it too much. It may depend more on how I view it and how I feel about the objectivity of the drama if you get what I mean.

Anyways, I don't want to get into too much talking. Since it's been so many years since this drama aired (5 years already dang), I am curious if you might ever try to rewatch this despite your low rewatch value you had put at the time. I am really curious how your opinions might differ from when you first watched it to now. I have learnt that throughout watching dramas for the past 4-5 years, I can feel my opinions for dramas I've watched gradually changing. It will not always be the same for every drama ofc, and might not be the same for you for this one either. Anyways, ngl,.even if I haven't rewatched a drama, I have that feeling inside that I might rate a drama differently tho you still never know at the same time lol. I think reading others' reviews and thoughts on a drama makes me think about that drama even more and does help me in a way in viewing a drama, both objectively and subjectively. Tho I think I am more on the subjective side of rating. Everyone is different with how they view dramas if you get it at all.

For real! I am actually currently watching it (it's my first rewatch) and this time I like to compare the subs from both from time to time. I don't mind subs and actually like the ones from Netflix bc it's easy to understand. Sorry for that TMI. But yeah, Netflix quality is soooo much better and so much more satisfying to watch seriously. I can't get over how terrible the Viki quality is bc it's so obvious there's a difference. I hope Viki improves on their end and move it up to 4K in the future :/

Man, I forgot how my sister did get mixed feelings for Runyu. It's definitely some of the things he's done. I'm not sure what he's done (don't wanna get spoiled), but I'd prob also get mixed feelings for him too. So at the same time, I prob won't get too much SLS. I did hear tho that a lot of people like Runyu because of his backstory and I think I prob won't hate him but try to understand him despite whatever things he's done. I know it's easy to hate characters, but sometimes, I can't really hate some characters mainly due to their backstory (if ykw I mean, like in LYF for Xiangliu for example, which crazy is also another Yangzi drama haha but ofc you might not agree with me for him either).

Also, I think Yangzi and Luo Yunxi are great actors. I've only watched Luo Yunxi in TTEOTM but I think he did so well there. When I think about it, I feel like they would do well if they had another drama together as leads. Imagine them as not like their characters in Ashes of Love but as different ones instead. That would be a different story, and you never know... If they had a drama together, it would depend more on how their characters are like in there and how they portray them.

And dang, when you said you avoided the drama for so long, it kinda sounded like to me that you were holding it off bc of not liking it, but lol I get you now! Yeah, that's understandable how you might forget to continue watching bc of getting busy. And in a way, I kinda get the drama drought, though I feel like I've never truly been in that phase before since I watch dramas straight and take breaks for some months and get back into it again.

These days I am suuuuuper into the historical C-dramas that I'm like watching dramas left and right tho, never stopping this year haha. Different as I am, I only got into them last year and haven't even watched a lot yet (like only 20+ so far), so there's still A LOT I wanna watch. I am glad you were able to find a drama (this one) to finally watch and enjoy a lot after that drama drought!

Tbh, I'm totally the opposite bc whenever I start to watch a drama, I want to finish it no matter what. I'm kinda more picky in my dramas now tho so I tend to choose ones I believe I will actually enjoy. Back then, I would watch some dramas I didn't enjoy that much but still always finished them lol I've only dropped a few dramas over the past (few) years of watching dramas if I had tbh lol.

Also, I think you're right about this year not having a lot of great dramas. Tbh tho, I haven't tried watching a lot from this year, but based on what is on my list, I think there's not a lot that I look forward to watching so much. On the top of my head, I can only think of The Legend of Shen Li and The Spirealm. And then there's a lot that I actually do look forward to that might come out this year. Maybe even more next year. I feel like 2023 last year had such amazing dramas that almost the majority of the ones I've watched so far are actually last year's hahaha shocking!

Seeing people's different reviews doesn't make me expect if I'll like this one or not, but it's interesting to see and makes me more curious about watching the drama! My prediction tho is I will have mixed feelings for this, but I'm still curious nonetheless. I'd love it if I can give it at least an 8! Reading reviews like yours does make me feel like I will enjoy it more than my sister tho LOL she really didn't like it a lot. And yes, the thought of watching 63 episodes is crazy. Like dang, I have yet to watch a drama that long! Well, I already watched Love and Redemption (my first xianxia btw) which is 59 episodes (so not much more) and I LOVED IT!! We'll see how I'll like it, and maybe I'll tell you about it when I do! Not sure when I plan to watch it tho lol could be in some time, but we'll see!
