Are we watching the same show? Because Iβm feeling the opposite πalso TJRβs character is so majestic here…
Haha, as what user "love triangles anti" said, VOS's emotional outreach to its viewers varies with each person. The drama felt more of a "tell" and not "show" to me, which to me severely undermines how well a drama can connect with its viewers
At least Fangs of Fortune had actual believable bonds between the main cast, be it as siblings, friends, or romantically. When characters die, when characters betray each other, you actually FELT something. This? Wasn't convincing at all.
I really wanted to like this but the inability to make audiences emotionally invested in the characters' journeys and relationships with each other (since the plot was kinda all over the place) turned this into a total letdown.
Free my man Tian Jiarui from this Guo Jingming director please. He deserves so much better. At least Chen Duling has other dramas upcoming and is free from the narrative mess this director brings.
I didnt know they make seasons for vertical cdramas cuz tell me why i started female fortune teller/soothsayer and what i watched wasnt even the complete story πππ why are the good ones always so hard to find πππ can a kind soul please comment on this post once the other parts are out.. thank you so much.
I need more of Cristy in main roles with good plots, and more FLs like this in dramas... I don't usually rewatch dramas but I'm gonna rewatch this it is such a hidden gem
If this is an adaptation then can someone spoil me - does Bingzhu have his own love line or does he like the FL?
Thank the lord i wanted him to either be good friends only with the FL or have his own love line. But interesting that it is original script! Feels quite uncommon in cdramaland for historical dramas. Thank you!
i think some people forget that a character can be a victim AND a villain, you can be both. She's a victim of child…
Agreed, she is both a victim and villain, a very two-fold situation. I felt the drama was able to do well in making the audience "root for"/"be invested in" this unapologetically immoral FL while not having too much empathy when she suffers the consequences of her actions.
While I do feel the ending was like an ultimate karma for her - losing her two dearest friends who were willing to go to lengths for her and falling when she was at the height of her popularity - I feel she will eventually get over that and find new people to make use of again, as she has always been doing. She is far too down this hell hole to stop. Granted, she may have some scars embedded deep down inside of her heart from these losses but I reckon this won't make her change her ways,,,
question.....why she dated for 1 years tge actor ? why cause him so much pain? also I didn't understand what was…
In her opinion, dating the actor who was in his prime would get her more fame and recognition.
The notebook that the grandma found made the grandma realise that the FL approached her and the actor for ulterior motives and that all those "coincidental meetings" and similarities they seemingly shared were fabricated. I am not sure which episode you are at, but by the end of episode 8 you will understand exactly how the grandma died. But if you're still unsure, I can let you know again
The drama either needed more episodes or fewer plot points/arcs. The pacing felt rushed in the second half and lost the intensity and grittiness it served in the first half ngl. I was really rooting for this drama to be a good one because an unapologetically immoral FL is SO RARE in kdramaland, and to have the audience root for (or at least be invested in her actions and her outcome) in such a character is no easy feat. I felt that the drama gave us that in the first half, and I was so immersed and invested... but the story just fell flat afterwards. UGH
Does anyone know if this drama airs 2 episodes per day or 1? I'm trying to decide if I can start this today (I am starved of a good drama to watch) or if I should let the drama marinate a bit more before starting because I am quite a binge watcher.
Now... i love me some good yummy angst.. but angst stemming from a pointless misunderstanding is not it π i adore the leads but this will be a tough watch
It's really too much and getting tiresome.. they are cute and all thats.. but seriously, how are this drama sidelining…
Right! Their side plots do be cute and I don't mind watching a spinoff of their stories but just NOT IN HERE... this story ain't supposed to be so focused on them T_T if this was like the old days, 60-80 episode drama, then fine... but there's only 36 episodes! Come on!!
