Parallel World from the Future

It’s definitely a slow series. It has a lot of ‘politics’ about the korean education system. If you don’t…
Because that's the theme of the show, the education system and their practices. The Koreae title is literally "Graduate".

Whoever gave the very misleading English title is an epic failure of a marketer and should never be assigned to think of English titles for non-English materials.

The English title missid the marked, which is giving the wrong expectations for many.

There's nothing "romantic" about this. In fact, it is not even the theme of this show.

From the Korean title itself, 졸업 (lit. Graduate), it is about education, schools, teachers, instructors.

Whoever gave that English title did not bother to understand what the show is about. LMAO. An epic fail marketing.

Lastly, about the genre "romance", that is correct. The genre "romance" has little to do about "romantic love" the way people today assume it (although "romantic love" can be present and is part of the genre). This show qualifies under the genre "romance". At least on that part, they got it correctly.

Rating it low, that was because of the wrong expectations the off-topic English title gave people. And also because people were not taught properly by their respective literature teachers in the past, watch E12 for that. 😝

Wow the rating plummeted - for those who are curious it wasn’t that bad. The romance between the leads was done…
Well, in the first place, it wasn't about the "romance". The Korean title is literally "Graduate". The teachers and education is the theme of the show not whatever romance. 😝

Secondly, E12 is the exact reason why many people today fail to appreciate literature and fiction. Why? Well, E12 explained it perfectly. 😁

I rarely give a low rating because my Filipino and English literature teachers back in the late 80s and 90s taught us exactly what E12 emphasized. Hence, to this very day, I always put myself into the shoes of the author and do my best to see it from their own perspective and experiences. That way of thinking is a skill that can also be used outside of literature and fiction. It's a shift in mindset that can be used in our daily life and yes, even at work. 🙂

E12 of the «The Midnight Romance In Hagwon» or «졸업» (lit. Graduate) tackled how to approach learning Literature and it is by entering the mind, life, situation, society, & time of the author.

I approach things the same way, hence, I see the beauty of novels & TV drama where few others did (and hence they rate them very low).

But E12 also reminded me that the reason I think this way was because of my teachers in Filipino and English literature. I'm Gen Xennial, or an early 80s baby, I could say we were blessed to have such teachers who taught us properly and imparted skills that can actually help us in our life instead of simply telling us to memorize this and that to pass the exams.

To our teachers, thank you. 🙇🏽 You taught us exactly what E12 of The Midnight Romance in Hagwon 졸업 was all about. It is a precious gift that I am still using today even at work.

Title Running Man
Yeah, I tried to edit that, but I got no response. Maybe it is hard to prove it to someone who doesn't watch the…
He is the main host since episode 1. There's nothing to it other than being given the task. All other Running Man spin-offs have the exact samu format as per SBS requirement. There is a main host, and that main host is also a member. The rest of the members can host too if they want, but the main host is the main host by contract.

Don't read too much into it. Instead think of it as the person with most say if things get out of hand. Like when everyone is arguing endlissly or having fun too much, it is the main host's job to control the situation. That is part of their job description while the regular members can do whatever they want.

What does "all their accumulated votes in the past" mean? will they add up all the previous votes?
In any case, there's a lot of movements right now. Now if the previous total scores since E01 are added, the final ranking might move.

What's important is to get to Top 7, just in case the Top 7 is the basis for the new group. And some of the favourites are below that.

At least based on Universe Ticket, Whale voters (the super rich) poured all their might in the final voting. Even fan clubs did.

I think that is happening again. The Whales are voting massively. The fandoms are spending all the money they collected to mass vote.

We'll probably see 500K to 1M new votes added from the final online voting for a few of them. 😅

And since we can only vote for 1 person, JL can even get dethroned, but will remain in the Top 7. Rank 2 was only 400k votes shy.

We can also see surprises. For example, Woongki fans are already voting massively instead of voting for JL (many of them were JL voters). They want to increase his final rank to secure a spot for him. Park Han whales and fandom are also massively voting now. We'll probably see 1 or 2 favourites to drop from ranking, potentially not debuting.

Yes, like what they did in Universe Ticket, their final ranking was the entire votes + scores they received. I'm suspecting that they will do the same.

For example, JL got 1M votes total in E09, that's impossible if it was only the 3rd online voting. That 1M was JL's total from 1st online to 3rd online + all-onsite votes + the double score from Stage S. In Stage S he got 400k if I remember correctly. So in 3rd online voting, he got 600k total.

In Stage M, they will simply add the final on-site votes + final online votes to the existing, like they did in Universe Ticket. And that will determine the final ranking overall. The Grand Total.

so you vote for the team to debut so what's the point of voting for them individually what if someone in another…
Here's a theory.

I think the "Winning Team" will be the new boy group's debut group name, or color, or overall theme.

HOWEVER, the final 7 will be based on 50% on-site + 50% online + all their accumulated votes in the past.

Okay, so I saw clips of E09 and well, as predicted (see my previous posts), JL left the competition behind based only on the 3rd online voting period. JL is practically doing a Gehlee Dangca.

In other words,
1. Team Rhythm will win in the 4th/Final voting.
2. Team Rhythm will win in E10.
3. There is no point for the other teams anymore.

UNLESS they surprise us with new rules.

For example, someone speculated that the MVP from the other teams will be merged with the winning team based on their individual final scores.

If that will be the case, then Park Han needs your vote. He needs to surpass the ranks of Rhythm's Top 7 to get a chance to debut.

Title Universe League Spoiler
Based on E08's online vote reveal, Woongki's case was a repeat of what happened in Universe Ticket.I can't remember…
Sorry everyone, but you really can't beat us Filipinos in online voting. 🤪

I mean, when Sandara Park first debut it was in the Philippines. She joined a pop talent search competition. There were no online voting back then, online mobile voting.

Each mobile vote costs money.

There were two Koreans in that competition and they both got 1st and 2nd place, with Sandara in 2nd. The votes of the two were in the millions. They left the 3rd rank far behind. As far as I know, it was Gehlee Dangca who first repeated that massive voting, she got the same total of votes as Sandara Park in the early 2000s.

Today, the Brazillians, Indonesians, Thais, and Malaysians, are also supporting Filipinos. Gehlee and Elisia got their votes. JL also got the support of Whale voters.

And, let's be honest, Gehlee, Elisia, and JL, do deserve their votes. You can trust us that we do vote by talent. We're a country who's been doing talent search competitions since the late 1970s. When we see talent and you show proper attitude, we will support you. But if you disappoint us, you won't get our support.

I think F&F realised this. They picked only 1 talented Filipino so they can predict which contestants will debut. The members of the team where JL is on is up to the Directors. So, if fans disagree with the final line-up, they only have to blame the Directors, in this case, Team Rhythm. 🤪

That is, of course, if they don't suddenly surprise us with another rule.

I can't remember who it was but in the 1st online voting, Elisia and Gehlee weren't at the top of online voting, but close.

By 2nd online voting, Gehlee left the competition.

Woongki was a few thousand votes ahead of JL from the 1st online voting.
By the 2nd online voting, JL left the competition behind.

If Team Groove won, he probably would've picked JL. He already understood since E06 that Online Voting matters…
In other words, Team Rhythm will get the most votes because of the JL voters.

Unless Groove and Beat find their own Whales to support Park Han and Woongki in voting.

Again, if the 3rd Online Voting gives JL another huge leap, the game is over in the finals.

The Final online voting requires voters to choose the team first before picking 1 contestant.

The massive JL voters will be forced to vote for Team Rhythm before they can vote for JL.

Well, with E08's voting being based on the 2nd Online Voting, that means E09 will use the 3rd Online Voting.

JL was seriously leaps ahead in online voting in 2nd Online Voting, very different from the 1st.

If things remain the same in the 3rd Online Voting, then we know Team Rhythm will debut with JL leaps ahead from the second.

I was hoping Rhythm would save Park Han. He and JL can form a ballad sub-unit.
