It seems she is entertaining the idea of a potential leveling up of their relationship beyond being just colleagues.
From a time travel perspective (instead of just pure romance), âLovely Runnerâ is about a couple who is trying to defy time by finding ways to change the âfixed timeâ.
In time travel, the âfixed timeâ trope is about an event that _must_ happen at all cost because it is a very pivotal moment in history. If it doesn't happen, literally everything will change and once it changes, it will be impossible to fix it⊠possibly unraveling time and destroying all existence.
In this story, Sunjae dying is a âfixed momentâ. He needs to die no matter what, because the future depends on him dying, otherwise, there won't any future. So, âtimeâ itself is _naturally_ fixing things, ensuring that Sunjae will die no matter what the time traveler tries.
Sol fixing her legs is not a âfixed momentâ. While time tried to ensure it happens again, for three times at that, time eventually adjusted to a version where she can walk fine. Those three âopportunitiesâ where she would've lost her legs, eventually superseded that one timeline where she did.
Unfortunately, for Sunjae, no matter how many attempts they do, him dying is integral to something. That something will happen in the future, maybe a new law was passed giving more protection to celebrities; or a new law was passed criminalising keyboard warriors. Whatever it will be, that's beyond the story.
However, there is hope. While Sunjae's death is vital to ensure the continued existence of the universe, there is one factor that can change that âfixed momentâ. Love.
In many cultures, both historically and present, âloveâ is the ultimate power that can make even the impossible possible. âLovely Runnerâ is showing us that. Their love for each other transcends all times/timelines. No matter what, they will always find each other, and love each other, and die for each other.
This was also demonstrated with Sol's brother and bestie. Though her bestie and brother did not get together in the original timeline, they had a spark, the spark just did not flame (think starting a campfire). When Sol started to change things, and even _without_ doing anything related to his brother and her bestie, the two eventually got a chance to flame that spark. Thus, every succeeding time travel by Sol, she doesn't have to do anything, in fact, she even tried to separate them, but they still got married.
The way I see it, this is what Sunjae and Sol needs to prove:
* Is their love for each other strong enough to change Sunjae's âfixed momentâ? * Is their desire to be in each other's arms powerful enough to reshape time?

I really like how they played the dementia plot device. There is a [fictional] theory that dementia, and a few others, are actually caused by multiple timelines. In this [fictional] theory, or trope, the cause of the dementia is either:
(1) the person has some sort of strong protection against timeline changes, so when they catch-up to the _origin_ time of the time traveler, all those memories floods in and they get confused, and the brain goes on self-preservation mode by only remembering the stable years; and
(2) as a person grows older and our body functions get weaker, people start to access the experiences and memories of their counterparts in other timelines. Since they are technically the same person (i.e. just a split timeline), they are quantum-entangled. If all of their versions gets dementia at around the same time, the more they are quantum-entangled (aside: quantum entanglement is a real physics science). Thus the person seems to âknowâ.
It's not really a redemption arc. It's saving Suji from Hyunsung. If Nayoung successfully steals Hyunsung, then Suji will never end up with him. No matter how good of a person Suji is, I doubt she'll still marry Hyunsung. Specially if Nayoung is involved, she'll just use it as another bullet against Suji.
So, it is better for Nayoung to steal Hyunsung successfully. It is not a redemption for Nayoung, because there is no good outcome that will come from Nayoung and Hyunsung being together. One, scandal. Two, Nayoung will use it. Three, as far as Nayoung is concerned, their relationship is fake. Fourth, once Hyunsung's parents learn the relationship of Nayoung with Suji, his father mostly will go nuclear.
That karma you're hoping for will come out of that Nayoung+Hyunsung relationship. ^_~

There's a mix of an affection for a little kid (since she's technically older than Sunjae in the past) + romantic feelings (that you only want to care for them and not let them get hurt).
How did she even do that? Every single time she said âSunjaeâ, it was so filled with emotions: love, care, âI always think about youâ, of someone older, of someone who's romantically in love. It's just so perfect.
This is why Hye Yoon is one of those I always wait for. She's a great actor. She can show on her face the many emotions of a human being, and she can capture in her voice those very same emotions. She can mix them too, and it's a very sweet to hear. Even if you close your eyes, you can picture what she's saying.

I mean, if they pegged this as sci-fi, like Star Trek, Andromeda, TimeCop, etc., then it wouldn't be disappointing if timelines changed. Even so, in those sci-fi, whenever they touch on changing the timeline, it was often because they need to reset it back to how it was originally, or, to stop an enemy. It was not focused on relationships, especially a romantic one, thus, it is not disappointing.
But using timetravel reset in this way, expect the audience/reader to be disappointed. After leading everyone to a happy, feel-good romance, poof, gone, just like that.

At this point, her 4th try (or probably 5th or 6th), and well, as a future version, she conquered all of those. (1) She more likely made sure she won't fall off the bridge, if that encounter still happened. (2) She made sure it is safe to cross. (3) She stopped counting.
