Title The Atypical Family Spoiler
So… E04
* The father don't have powers, since he was surprised as well.

* But he is very comedic. “What's the lottery numbers? Or, were it stocks?” ROFL. He's as regular as everyone else, Lottery is the best information from the future!

* Everyone's reaction when grandma was telling her dream about the FL were so LMAO moment. They're trying to hide their emotions and worry because they knew how serious grandma's dreams are, and they don't want to scare her.

* Grandma's precog ability seems to be based on what she deeply desires. Since she's too concerned about money, she was dreaming lottery numbers and stock options. It was too late when she dreamed her daughter-in-law. And now, she's too much into FL, she's dreaming about her a lot.

* The sister is also funny.

* The ML's comedic scenes are at the right moment without changing his image as depressed and too serious. Even though he knew he doesn't have reflections, he was still very surprised when he didn't see his own reflection. LOL.

I think you're mixing things up.HS's father is not a bad person because he agreed to terminate Suji. He is because…
> he’s a director whether he’s in his home or office

Well… that's where we differ.

> And I’m not reading alladat the first bits are prove enough what the rest will be

Apologies, and I'm sad you did that and assumed what the rest will be.

However, just so you know, I read every word you said before and after, thrice too. ^_~ Since I did, I stand by what I already said, and I think I can say you missed my point. ^_^

Oh, it's rude but what you said is not?

> The Writer ought to do a better job

---

> I have never liked your comments and have not bothered to read them.

Okay. I did not ask you to like my comments or to read my comments.

> But I have REFRAINED from telling you how to write your comments.

Well, it's your choice. By not saying anything, the person you hate will never know.

In the same way that, I told you how you shouldn't say this: The Writer ought to do a better job. Because I want you to be informed.

It is not my problem if you don't want to engage people.

> Think...how would you feel if a commenter told you the same thing.

Back at you. If you were the writer, how would you feel if a commenter told you “do a better job”?

> Please do not engage me ever again.

Oh, please. You do that, not me. Block me or whatever.

Dancing with a woman at a club doesn't mean he's cheating.
> would you allow your partner to dance with someone else at a club ?

Yes. It's just dancing. However, if it starts to get physical and erotic, I'll step in.

As long as you both know your limits, and are mature adults, you can do things without it turning ugly.

My first love, of 3 years, we've worked together for multiple projects. Since we're comfortable with each other, obviously, we can do things faster and more efficiently, than if we're total strangers. LOL. We even went on coffee meetings with just the two us and finished a project in two days instead of 2 weeks.

Most people consider it cheating. So, then, I ask, was it cheating for two matured adults--who are fully aware of their limits--to chat, meet, and work on projects?

Dancing is no different. And a lot of other stuff.

Society just want us to think negatively, and put some meaning to things when there aren't. It is beneficial if people are fighting. Beneficial to those in power and hungry for more money.

LOL! The moment she mentioned “the eyes is the window to your soul” and the kid replied, “that's exactly why I don't like it”, I immediately knew she can read people.

Why didn't I notice that last week! Her waiting those high grade glasses is the one that is blocking her abilities, not the smartphone!

I understand that kid, as an autistic, I use my glasses to block my ability to read other people. Okay, just kidding. It makes me comfortable looking at other people with glasses on. But it is so uncomfortable without. And the reason behind that is similar to Ina, “your eyes are the window to your soul”. Like, hell no, I don't want people to see into my soul and I don't want to see the soul of others.

It's amazing how the writer thought of connecting glasses and “window to your soul” together. I wonder if the writer knew it is true-to-life, and wasn't just a figment of their imagination.

Anyway, it's going to be challenge for Ina to use her powers, since she do need to wear high grade glasses. Like me, I need to wear my glasses, I'd rather see than hear people's thoughts. :P

I think you're mixing things up.

HS's father is not a bad person because he agreed to terminate Suji. He is because he is not acting like a father to his son, instead he is acting like a director.

You have to separate him being the director, and him being the father. Which, I would say, was an obvious hint in the show with how the three of them (father, mother, and HS), acts while outside of their home, or if there are other people around.

They themselves know how to behave, and how to separate their business and family life.

Thus, his father still acting like a director when it comes to the issue of Suji, when they are at home, is what's making him a “bad” person. He is an adult, he should know better. It has nothing to do with culture.

Do you know why? Because it happens every where, Koreans, Americans, Japanese, Filipinos, Vietnamese, British, African. Parents forgetting that there is a difference between being inside your “home” as a family versus outside in a business environment.

As a father, he should have known that he can show sympathy towards his son, if not for Suji. And he should have known to have an open mind and talk to his son properly.

Which again, the show made it obvious, through HS's mother constantly reminding her husband. But obviously, her husband epicly fails at.

Again, it has nothing to do with culture. And it has nothing to do with “it is Korean culture”. LOL. That social reputation you are calling “Korean culture” is a “Filipino culture” as well, and Korea and the Philippines have no known historical cultural exchange/interaction other than sometime in mid-Joseon period, and it wasn't even anything “cultural exchange”, there were simply Filipino sailors who got wrecked and landed in Jeju, lived in Korea for some years, were called by the Joseon King so they can get help. That was it. The next interaction between the two countries was a century and a few decades later.

So, no, Filipino culture did not acquire Korean culture; nor Korean culture acquired Filipino culture. Which proves that social reputation is _not_ a Korean culture, it is normal and common in many cultures.

Once you understand that, it becomes clearer why HS's father is “bad”. It has nothing to do with culture, Korean or otherwise, he simply is not acting like a father. Especially when his own wife is constantly reminding her.

Forget about the stance of the hospital, and the media. That's normal, and again, has nothing to do with culture, it happens everywhere. If I was part of the board of that hospital, I would vote similarly, remove Suji, with an option to reinstate once it's has been cleared. Business is business. A person is in a position because they are the ones who can make the hardest decisions when needed.

However, outside of your role as a director or board, that is what defines you, as a person, if you are a good or bad human being. Separation of personal life and work.

The fact that he tells his parents that Soo Ji does not feel the same way as him, and then says "Not yet. But…
Exactly. I never did something like that to my ex-girlfriends. It's their property. Whatever were written there, it is up to the person to decide if they want to share it or not.

Also, if you trust your partner, you wouldn't be insecure and entertaining negative thoughts.

It easy to blame HS but Suji needs to be strictly straightforward and say fuck off. First of all, she is not a…
I doubt anyone overlooked her shortcomings because it was very obvious since E01.

It is also not easy to blame HS, especially since they introduced him as the ex-boyfriend where they had a misunderstanding of each other that led to the break up.

If you already knew Suji's shortcomings, and the issues she have, then there's nothing to say about it. And then here comes the boyfriend showing his true colours.

They were a good match during their school days. You've forgotten that after their misunderstanding, which led to breaking up, they each had to deal with the pain and disappointment. For Suji, she moved on. For HS, he did not, or at least, that “love” of his morphed into something else, an obsession.

Suji agreed to rekindle their relationship because she still has lingering feelings for him, and she felt bad because of their misunderstanding. But the most important reason, Suji wants to give it another try, that maybe, just maybe, they indeed can rekindle their love for each other that way it used to be.

Unfortunately for her, the Na Young drama started at the same time.

No. No one is blaming HS just because it was easy to blame him. At the same time, no one overlooked Suji's shortcomings. It is because of her shortcomings that people are empathising with her more than HS. And it was because of HS's love morphing into obsession, and it clearly shows with the way he acts, make decisions, and the words that come out of his mouth, that people are hating him so much.

We actually don’t know why the name was changed, but I’m assuming is to hide away from her mom.
> The Writer ought to do a better job in explaining the reasons for the family to move overseas and the change of SJ's name.

It will be explained in due time. Just be patient, and refrain from comments like “do a better job”. You don't drop every single information just because you can, that's very poor writing.

If you really want to tell the writer to “do a better job”, then it should be, at least in this story, more on making their relationships clearer. For example, another on-going daily drama explained the relationships of the characters clearer in the first 5 episodes.

So, yeah, if there's an improvement needed, it's that part, relationships. Not the reason behind moving overseas, it's best to explain that in the latter episodes where it makes more logical sense.

This serie seems very interesting, but I tend to lose interest in series with a lot of episodes. Is it worth it…
It is worth it.

Daily “family” drama format have a weekly theme. It progresses from that. Also, it's often between 20-30 minutes long. So, a 5-day episode per week can be considered as 2 episodes per week that are 75 minutes long each.

What you can do is, watch the weekly episodes every Saturday or Sunday, so you can watch it in one sitting.

Unfortunately, this series is off by 1 episode because there was one Friday night when it didn't air (not sure what the reason was). So, the theme is kinda off the mark since then.

If you want to stick to the weekly theme, then watch it Tuesday or Wednesday, so that you can watch the 5 episodes together.

For example, we're currently in the E31-35 theme. But E35 will air Monday night. So, watch E31-35 Tuesday or later.

Sadly, I have seen this a lot lately. Like dramas marked with romance, but in the end nothing happened. Maybe…
* Korean title: 종말의 바보 (Jongmarui Babo), lit. Doomsday Fool.
* Japanese title: 終末のフール (Shumatsu no Furu), lit. The Last-minute Fool.

The original Japanese material chose “The Fool at the End of the World” as its official English title, since it's the best fit with the story. And the Korean adaptation's title also reflects both the original Japanese title and the official English title.

If “fool” seems inappropriate, they could've chosen something like “crazy” (although that sounds like comedic).

Actually, “The Crazy Fool” would've been better, while in the background, there's a burning asteroid that just entered the atmosphere. It sends the message that there is this character acting like a fool while the world is about to burn.

Instead of “Goodbye Earth” which sends the message that the world is facing doomsday, and is trying to save it, with a focus on global unity and efforts.

Yep. That was very rude of him and showed how he only thinks of himself. His own words is also betraying him,…
Yep. He'll just blame others. All the bad things that happens to him are the fault of the people around him.
