I wonder that too... probably she thinks she will go back to the future by killing herself, she thinks that her…
Could be.
But it appears to be it was also the reason she lost her legs in the original timeline. She loses her mind and cross streets oblivious to her surroundings. If a car honks before she cross, she takes a deep breath and count. Which was a bad idea, since traffic lights are not consistent.
If you are curious about the July 22, 2009 Solar Eclipse depicted in E01, yes, that was real. ^_^
It wasn't a “total solar eclipse”, it was only partial, however, South Korea was close to the totality path that it actually went noticeably darker than usual.
I blogged about it as well back then, but from the Philippines (we were farther fromthe totality path, unfortunately). ^_^
I like the FL's E01 character. She depicted how fragile a disabled person's mental health is.
1. From giving up, close to ending your life. 2. To recovering and being happy-go-lucky to keep yourself from going back to your past. 3. Then struggling again because of the multiple bad situations she was in one night.
I don't know about you, but as someone who tried to end his life multiple times, and have struggled living on this world with all the discrimination and prejudice against someone like me, an autistic, and society not willing to adjust for us instead they want us to adjust 100% of the time for them… her character resonated well with me.
That bridge scene, I've felt it. You are once again in a situation you want to give up, but at the same time you are fighting to keep yourself happy and avoid that blackhole again. You just want to live a simple and happy life, despite all the struggles and evil in the world.
Then someone comes along, unexpectedly. A person you never expected will be there for you, willing to listen, and help you get back up again.
Well done to Kim Hye Yoon because she fully expressed those emotions and struggles. And to the writer for knowing the right dialogues in such situations.
I hope it wasn't just me who noticed this, especially since I think it will be an important contrast in the story. A person who almost gave up, and a person who gave her hope. Years later, they met for the first time. She was again in spiriling down, and he brought her up again. A few hous later, the one who gave hope twice, was the one who gave up in life.
The person who gave hope to someone and saved her, was actually struggling himself, and there was no one to life him up and share his burdens. I think that role they had for each other will be important in the rest of their story.
That hospital random caller scene was very touching and sad. And was really bad, I fully understand why she was angry. And good save by the Eclipse idol.
Hmmm... the ML is just not it. I wished they casted someone better, short.. miss casting.. 😞Makes you appreciate…
> Also the constant switching between Filipino and English every 2 sec is annoying as hell !!
Uhh, most, if not all, Filipinos speak English fluently. We in fact have our own variety of English called “Philippine English”, which is at par, and sometimes considered by linguists as better than, British English, American English, and Australian English.
It is a common misconception that “Philippine English” is the same as “Taglish”/“Englog”. Again, misconception. It is also compared with “Korlish” and “Singlish”, which again, is wrong.
Thus, you will indeed see Philippine-produced animations and live-actions (TV and films) where the characters are switching between Filipino and [Philippine] English because English is part of our culture, it is natural for us.
If Filipinos only speak in pure Filipino, that IS UNNATURAL, because we don't do that in real life. ^_~
Surprisingly, this is actually good and fun to watch, especially if you are a Filipino because you'll understand the cultural context and why they do things the way they do things.
Also, they're going to film scenes in the Philippines! (It was why it was reported in local news.)
I was thinking, she was also losing her mind in the original timeline which caused her accident.
Or, she has "fear of crossing streets"? Does it exist?

Hmm… is there "fear of crossing streets"?
Nothing in the world is a coincidence. ;)
