Can someone explain why Tomoe fell infront of his sword? And what the second scar supposed to mean? I feel dumb…
Tomoe wants to save Kenshin because: 1. She fell in love with him -- if she didn't stop the enemy (forgot his name from the anime), Kenshin would've died because he's slower at this point; 2. She believes that he is a man of his word and will stop killing and find a way to defend people instead
The second scar, two things: a. It is to invalidate the first scar that her fiancé gave Kenshin b. It is to remind Kenshin that he must never kill again no matter what c. (Bonus) It is supposed to be a curse, as explained in the previous movies (as well as the anime and manga). A curse that the scar will never heal until those who gave it to him forgives him and/or he finally paid for his sins.
Argh… another list with "Commercial Breaks = 2 episodes".
It only had 12 episodes. Commercial breaks does not make a single episode into two episodes. They clearly misunderstood what "Part 1" and "Part 2" means.
I don't know what to say with "Azumi 2: Death or Love". As the title suggest, and if you've watched the first movie, this is a sad ending for the story of Azumi.
Movies with sequels usually fail to live up with the original film, Azumi 2 is one of those rare sequels that was equal to or even surpassed the first film. The production was great and the background music were at the right scenes. The story was great, now that the background or introduction was out of the way, this sequel concentrated on Azumi and her hidden conflict inside: Death or Love.
Both movies are highly recommended. In fact, these two movies are closely tied-in together, it was as good as a single film. I'm glad they did not follow this up with another sequel "Azumi 3" because that would more likely not be at par with "Azumi" and "Azumi 2", though of course it would be great to see Azumi in action again.
And this is where I give Ueto Aya the highest praises, she was able to pull the exact same fierceness and one-mindedness when her character is in killing-mode. She did not force it, it was natural as if she was Azumi. Aya was born to bring Azumi alive.
Another perfect 10.
P.S. Time period aside, it would be an epic match if Azuri and Hitokiri Battousai met.

Yes. It was implied that and it wasn't just one soldier nor one time.
What they were trying to portray was to show what Ashin had to go through to survive in the military camp, especially for someone who came from a tribe the Joseon natives see as lowlifes.
This is actually good! It's slow at first, building the story of the group of assassins. Then it picks up and showed us amazing sword choreography. Great acting by Ueto Aya and even though she looks beautiful and pretty, she was able to exude her character's fierceness and one-mindedness of a true assassin. I can not help but compare her to Battousai whenever Azumi the Assassin shows up.
In memory of the original 10, and the perfectness of the production, story, and cast, I give this a perfect 10.

It was just a side-story, a background on Ashin. It was never meant to be compared to the main series nor to add anything new.
However, if you still remember the main series, you should've have noticed the big revelation in the latter part of Ashin of the North. :P
Lastly, this side-story should've made you wonder what it means to meet Ashin in the ending of Kingdom Season 2. Since we now know Ashin is hell bent on destroying the kingdom and the northern foreigners, was the one who actually spread the flower (hint), and even have the desire to "join them", Kingdom Season 3 is now in a total chaos now that they have met Ashin.
We now know that she is not a "hero of the North" or some "key" to the zombie problem. She is the source. She is everyone's doom.
They should replace the Byakuya actor, he was trying hard to be fierce. Everytime he showed up, he was pulling the movie down.
If they will retain him, then the director should tell him to relax and to own the character. He does not need to copy the Byakuya in the anime adaptation. Own the character, be a unique Byakuya.
As for the Orihime character, they should've signed-up a Korean actress, they know how to act cute. That was Orihime's charm, being cute. The actress for Orihime was too serious but in fairness she did well in looking "innocent".
I wasn't aware Eiko Kadono's novel "Kiki's Delivery Service" had a live-action film adaptation in 2014. I love this movie, it's sweet, lovely, and touchy. Even though the CG for the baby hippo was not so good, overall that can be easily overlooked because of the acting, story, production, and proper setting. Highly recommended for the family!

Finished Love from Another Star. About to finish Legend of the Blue Sea. Then I'll have time to watch Blood: The Last Vampire again before the premier of Kingdom: Ashin of the North!

If I remember correctly, he was the one who introduced the the flower to the king. So when Kingdom Season 1 begins, the king was already a zombie.
So while Ashin stayed in the North, her influence reaches down South. She's scary.
There will be another side-story.
And yes, Season 3 will come whenever they are ready to film it.
