Fair enough, that's how I feel about rich ML x poor FL trope. Way overdone (even this drama had it) but we can't seem to escape from it. I only like it if the plot is original enough or sometimes it's exactly the the pure loserism on ML's side that makes up for it

good observation! I think it might be because dramas are more oriented towards the female audience and seeing the ML down bad and desperate for Fl's attention to the point where she is like his air, is appealing! There's a reason why many drama watchers are joking that their standarts in men are too high after watching these dramas 🤣 I myself don't mind these cliches as long as they're done right. I was tired of the classic poor girl - rich CEO boy trope, so even though they still like to make the male lead a rich boy, at least nowadays he's also a loser in love 😁

well it's not exactly a light summer drama, especially the latest few episodes... there were indeed a few uncomfortable scenes, but I think it should get better now

well after today's episodes it was difficult for me to fully understand his mental state and what exactly he was like in those 10 years, but I think that will be revealed in tomorrow's episode.
In my eyes he's still a loser in love who yearns for her though, because besides everything, besides telling Zhou Wan that he'll make her beg and cry for him, he still can't help but cling to her and put the betrayal behind. He also had hallucinations of her throughout the years

to each their own, I actually liked the first 20 episodes, it's just that the latest two were too confusing for me.
What I do when I don't like the plot of a drama but love the chemistry between the leads though is I watch edits of the drama, so that I wouldn't be wasting my time but would still see the cutest scenes of it 😁

Yes, he's been so inconsistent lately but that's probably the trauma's fault (or they're trying to add scenes from the novel that don't necessarily fit the drama). And he's been so clingy with her instead of proceeding with his "I'll make you cry and beg me" plan 👀
I didn't like the storytelling of today's episodes, but hopefully next ones will be better!
