What I can't believe is that it's the same screenwriter as Only Friends! Never would have guessed with the quality of storytelling being so much poorer in this.
I think the Japanese voice-over was because the kid watches Anime and has some kind of kink with that and/or 2-D representation of the human form. I really wish the Japanese part had been subtitled, I'm guessing it would have given more insight into that. :(
It does seem like three friends live together (and that Nun used to live with them too) while the blond kid still lives at home with his dad.
I also found the set-up of characters confusing in Ep 1. There was enough there to get me intrigued about Zouey but not really anyone else yet. Hopefully Ep 2 will focus on characterization a little bit more so I can get emotionally invested as well as visually!

And I agree with you! Yes to butterflies for the love scenes, especially because of Bright's (Yai) focused intensity, but I didn't feel them anywhere else. I only have 2 more episodes to go but I keep putting it off. 🤷
I'm curious what that "one controversial thing" is too? I'm up-to-date watching the series but I still can't quite guess what mean, lol. Curious of your perspective :)
