I took a peek at the next episodes. I think ep 15 has some answers about that.

I remember when her brother was lying that she was sick, he mentioned that now she's grown into a woman and it's inappropriate for ZZ to see her in her chambers. So maybe you're right and they haven't seen each other for years. Let's say the veil is magical or something 😅 He still should have recognized her voice, unless it's changed since they were kids.

I think he has recognized her and is waiting for her to show herself.

I was surprised about that as well. It's only been a year and she's one of the most trusted people in the palace. Maybe this is supposed to show her growth since ZZ mentioned that her skills weren't top before? She certainly recognized him in their first fight (which is why I don't think she was planning to kill him) but I think he started considering it after he learned about DYH's disappearance. Maybe it's just me but during their first prolonged glance, her stare seemed different, and after she saved him in that cave, his stare seemed different. Or maybe I'm overanalyzing 😅

Probably to take down He Bo/Yi Ming? My question is: shouldn't ZZ have recognized her by now? Let's put the magic veil aside, what about her voice? 😅

You're right. It makes more sense for ZZ to pull it away when they're alone.

Everyone can have their opinion, as long as they don't spread hate (which you don't)! Personally, I have not read anything about the novel to experience this as a story of each own and let the actors become the characters for me... Tbh, I like this actress, so maybe I'm biased when saying she has very expressive eyes, and in other recent works she feels very natural to me. As DYH, the scenes we saw were quite demanding and stressful for her character, maybe that's why they felt too much? But as the moon envoy, I think she conveys that mystery very well and her eyes tell more than her actions in every scene. I hope she'll grow on you, so you can enjoy the show more! After all, she's only a guest (unfortunately for me, fortunately for you 😅).

Can I ask why? Is it about the book or do you not like the actress in general?
