I'm not planning on writing a review on CM because I am no where near qualified to do so, but I just wanted to…
I dont think there are specific requirements for a review, maybe you can submit this comment as one? I'm not a film geek either but I thought the drama flowed smoothly and the transitions and editing were neatly executed. I think CM is proof that even with limited resources you can produce something decent. As soon as the episode starts, I find myself completely immersed in its world and only come out when the ending credits show up, that's how good everything is, there's nothing out of place to distract me or take my attention away. Maybe it's my inexperienced eye that can't spot these weaknesses but I also believe if there are some they're not as glaringly obvious as to ruin the viewing experience and this in itself is in favour of the drama as I think when something is not well done it will always show one way or another but I never felt this with CM.
I've just read it and came here to share but here you are ^_^Thanks for making the request and I'm so relieved…
I believe she meant the latter and it's logical too. Someone unaccepting of same-sex portrayal in media won't care how you label it anyway, for them it's a no either way. But other people would like to see it but aren't necessarily comfortable with the common, and often times problematic tropes of BL as a genre and would be more open to a work that doesn't define itself as such. We can argue that manga or live-action, both are works of fiction and in theory there's no reason they can't be held to similar standards but it's true the visual of real people acting out a story makes it realer and closer to heart so it's important that it's handled with more care which I believe CM production aimed for and succeeded in with all the changes they made with the source material. We can be critical of certain points or disagree with the word choice but after reading this translation I can't see what warranted the strong reactions the other day to the point of calling her homophobic and such.
So @motivateanger on Twitter full filled my request to translate an interview with cherry magic's scriptwriter.…
I've just read it and came here to share but here you are ^_^ Thanks for making the request and I'm so relieved now. It's actually thoughtful and insightful and as we expected she meant to avoid any prejudice or negative baggage that comes with the BL label. I'm also so so happy for the confirmation about Fujisaki being on the aro/ace spectrum and I like the way she explains the difference between fantasizing about a fictional character versus a real person you see and work with. I think we can agree the intentions are good and harmless, even if there is stil progress to make. Like she said, it's a transitional period and hopefully in a near future a lot of this won't be considered an issue anymore.
I usually like to rewatch dramas after a long time so that I don't remember what happens and can be surprised…
I almost never ever rewatch anything no matter how much I like it, I may go back to certain scenes but never do a full rewatch but CM is the exception. I lost count of how many times I've rewatched it, I'm sure I can entirely play it in my head lol
Probably because you watch ep 11 and 12 in one go, so it didn't hurt that much? For most of us who watched it…
The majority wasn't disappointed. We agreed it was necessary and most of us expected the angst but it was still sad to go through it. I liked your review and I share your thoughts. I am also happy and content with everything, the show never disappointed and remained true to itself from beginning to end.
Sorry to interrupt the fan service topic and going back to the plot of the show once again, but do you remember…
Not sure about the magic but she definitely knows about their feelings and relationship. I hope she can be of help and offer advice the way Adachi did for her
