itβs a 6.5 now. I had rated it a 10 but now my rating has dropped. No hate to the leads and actors but the writing…
The exact same thing happened to me. After the first four episodes, I honestly thought this was going to be a 10/10, but now that I'm on episode 17, I'd only give it a 6.5. The writing is an absolute mess...
Meng Ziyi has been amazing in this drama so far. I have a feeling she's about to become another one of my favorite actresses because she's been absolutely killing it!!
Can mdl ratings be manipulated? because how did it get a 7.9 score when almost every episode is rated around 9?
Yeah, and it's not just because of the haters... If you look at some other dramas, their Current Watching, Dropped, and Verified/Stars Rating scores are actually lower than this drama's, yet they end up with the same overall rating or even a higher one. I'll never understand how MDL calculates its ratings...
I'm enjoying it so far, though I've only watched five episodes. It's lighthearted, has a touch of comedy (which I personally enjoy) and a cast I really like. My only complaint is that I wish they had used the actors' original voices instead of dubbing.
It's true that the editing is a bit rough due to the rights issues and censorship, but since I started it already knowing that, it doesn't really bother me.
I've watched the first four episodes and I'm a little disappointed so far. The worst part is definitely the camera work, editing, and directing... there are some really weird angles, and the image quality looks like 480p even when you're watching it in 1080p π
I'll keep watching because, judging by the trailers, I think it has the potential to get a lot better, and I already feel like it's improved a bit from ep 1 to ep 4. Plus, I absolutely adore both leads.
I've watched the first four episodes and I'm already hooked. Ever since I saw Chen Du Ling in VoS, I've loved her, and with this drama, she's definitely becoming one of my favorite actresses.
These ratings are so frustrating. Giving it a 1-star and bashing it after only one episode is absolutely ridiculous.…
The problem is that since there are very few of us actually watching it, the haters' ratings are much more noticeable π₯², although I suppose those who are watching it and haven't rated it yet will raise the final rating.
If anyone is hesitant to watch it because of the ratings but thinks they might like it, give it a chance. It's truly a drama worth watching.π
Yang Shanheng (Xiaoqi) (played by Deng Enxi) was originally the illegitimate daughter of the Yang family of Northwest China. Her mother, Feng Xiuniang, was exiled after being falsely accused of adultery. Upon returning to the Yang family in Suzhou, she displayed cunning and courage amidst the family power struggles. Gradually, she revealed the truth about her father's death and initiated a series of confrontations with her stepmother, aunt, and other family members. In this process, she met Xu Fengjia (played by Dong Sicheng), who held a prominent position. Their initially hostile relationship evolved into mutual understanding and affection. Their feelings gradually strengthened through the ups and downs of the story, becoming an indispensable part of each other's lives. Xu Fengjia trained in the army and rose to become a responsible general, while Xiaoqi established herself within the family and eventually cleared her mother's name.
P.S. Zhang Jing Yi really knows how to pick her dramas.

P.S: I'm completely obsessed with the OST
